AZ (AŽ) Slovenian national beehive, nice. It is not completely same. As I saw in beginning of this video, you need one modification for leading your frames. It is not enough to have separators from front and back side. Also you need smal pieces half circular, from up and under frames, so it can bee leading for frames. People in ex Yugoslavia put metal rodes up and down for each frame, along frame, so beekeepers could pull out frames without concern to accidentally kill queen. That is done and for purposes of transportation in modified busses. With 70 and more colinies. Sometimes, they drive on rough terrains. Sorry again for my bad English 🙄.

Your English is great, thanks for your comments. can you tell me where i can find the information on the modifications your talking about please? thanks .
@DraganDjordjevic815 жыл бұрын
@@richardnoel3141 I was trying to find such modification on the internet, but there is not even one picture for example. Sorry. My cousin, old man, used to have 12 frames AZ grom (tunder) modified in such way, and placed inside old bus, but now, in my part of the country, no one uses it anymore. It's not practical for us. DB, LR and others, stand alone, are in use. I saw it when I was young, it's like railway for frames, and openings for metal queen excluder were in opposite direction, I meant metal rodes, so that trails could be set up and down. Well looking now, probably it was because of their fears. Or maybe, their frames were full of honey and heavier than today😂. Never mind. Wish you good fortune in this and all next beekeeping years.

Maybe like a guide? Like on a drawer, the tops and bottoms would slide along a bar that fit the round groves? Would have to weld in additional bars=more work lol. At $550 us, very hard to justify this hive, but i want one!

What's the material that you have under your hive base, it seems to be like wooden sheets,...? Where do you get it ?

Really big swarms you should look for multiple queens. Swarms can join up from several hives.

Nice to see the AZ in use eventually and what a way to start, you'd think the swarm was taylor made to fit 😅 And best of all you know its history sanitary wise so as not to add anything strange to your apiary.

Great! For you ! I got set back by mites during a warm winter. So now recovered the colonies but not the population. Hence my AZ is still vacant. Our trip to Guadalupe is on, the resort has found 3 beekeepers for us to meet. Thanks G

Hello. I live in Iowa, USA. I was lucky enough to purchased two AZ hives (3 deep) this last spring at an auction our state bee club had. One is from Slovenia, brand new. The other is made in the USA. Similar but not nearly as nice as the authentic slovenian AZ hive. I watched your Christmas opening video. And your trip to Hawaii. I would like more information on the mobile as hive house that your friend has. Are they commercially available? Or building materials list and plans?

So is the AZ hive built to take the lifting out of beekeeping? What's it all about?
@jeffharris87875 жыл бұрын
Crikey! That's a whopper!!! 😳 How to completely fill a hive in 20 minutes 😉 Must admit I do like the idea of a cabinet type hive, no heavy lifting and less bee casualties from reassembly, I think. I'd have to sort some form of frame runner though, they look a bit wobbly. 🤔 Another great video, keep em coming 😊

Where I come from the vast majority of Commercial Bee-keepers are far too arrogant and closed minded to consider any other hive other than Langstroth. They go ballistic at the mention of Top Bar Hives and blame Domestic Bee-keepers for every bee problem in the book especially AFB and Varroa. My observation over the past 20 years is that Commercial Bee-keeping practices have been responsible of most AFB problems such as breaking suppers down for extraction and not making sure the same frames go back in the same box's and back on the same hives and being too busy to deal with AFB as soon as they discover it.
