Nichole, I appreciate your honest review of The Jardin Rose Arches from Gardener's Supply. I was contemplating buying them, even though I thought they were too pricey. Now, I'm going to look for something much more sturdy. Maybe I will check at our local welding shop to see what they can make for me. I love the raised beds that you and Ray built 🪚🔨using composite deck boards, they are well made and look wonderful! Have a lovely weekend! ~Margie😊

Glad it was helpful! Thank you Margie! I'm glad you have a local welding shop and I hope you find something nice. Ray is going to try to solder the spokes that are popping, wish us luck!!

@@planttasticcookinggardenin1561 Good Luck, and I sure hope that works and holds for you. They do look nice even if they are less than perfect.

Hi. I live in a windy area too. I pound rebar stakes deep into the ground immediately beside the legs and use wire ties to secure the two together. I works very well and is minimally visible.

Hello Diane! Yes we use a lot of rebar too. I just don't know if these are going to pull apart with the pressure. Maybe I'll try your idea first...what's the worst that can happen, the spokes are already popping apart lol. Thanks for sharing : )

If you look for privately owned landscaper centers, you might find soils/etc in bulk. You might find a landscaper too willing to deliver. ( Sometimes these centers have phones numbers, sometimes they will deliver too.) Saves HUGE money, for everything!

Hello and thank you for sharing your thoughts! We actually have a huge municipal recycling center that sells back our yard waste. I used to use it but constantly introduced weeds and disease that I didn’t have previously so there is positives and negatives. It’s very rare for me to have this problem with bagged soils. The downside of bags though is that they are fairly lifeless. That’s why so much fertilizer is added. I did check with my municipality on prices and by shopping around and using mostly my own dirt I actually came out ok. Thanks again!

@@planttasticcookinggardenin1561 I shared because this was what we did. I didn't even know it existed. They had organic soils, garden soil, rocks, mulch ( organic and non.) Apparently they cater more to professional landscapers. It was not municipal. I use bags too for our hill. ( Easier!) But was so relieved to find this place was $50 for a Truckload of organic soil! Pure gold! Lol!

@@shervin6711 That’s so awesome that you found a reliable supplier! I haven’t been able to get the full story from suppliers in our area. When i ask where it comes from, is it tested for chemicals (even on the organic stuff) No one seems to know. When i call Espoma, they always have answers to all of my questions which does make me feel more secure. I’m really trying to build the soil on my property so that it’s full of life. There’s a trade off to everything though and I’m trying not to drive myself crazy lol.

Thank you so much for sharing this Gardener's Supply experience. I think that many, if not most, of the prices of Gardener's Supply's merchandise seems excessive - for what they offer. I have ordered small items from them and once I received them, I thought the cost did not match the items. I am considering purchasing additional arches and I like the ease of assembly, but I am thankful to know the durability I need is missing.

Hi Terri! Thanks so much for sharing your experience! We gardeners have to help each other out. I haven't had much experience with them as I'm kind of a bargain hunter normally tee hee... I'm a champagne tastes on a beer budget kind of girl.

@@planttasticcookinggardenin1561 I too like quality for less - or at least the cost to be reasonable ! But if I can get something nice for cheap or free - even better.🙂

Hi Nicole, the beds look good! The bale of straw is a great idea, too bad I already started filling up my raised bed with organic material that I collected all over the garden. Top soil will be free for me but compost will probably be pricey too. I haven't heard about mushroom compost before, thanks for the tip;-). Sorry about the trellises.

Hi Evita! Oh you are so lucky to have free top soil. We don't have much access since we are a small suburban garden. Yes, mushroom compost tends to be cheaper in our area and we have a nursery that supplies a lot of it. I just bought a bag of Espomas chicken manure for the raised beds too. Thanks for the sympathy!

This is why I wanted to come and find reviews on KZbin. I’ve bought metal products from gardeners supply for my garden and I was not happy at all, very cheaply made foot that goes into ground short and cheap and the metal bends with just the shade cloth and some winds. I agree products are overpriced for the quality that you get.

I too am disappointed with the Jardin Rose Arch. Couldn’t get the top arch assembly to attach per instructions & ended up using wire to hold it. A lot of $$$ considering how frustrating assembly is. Hopefully it will stay together.

Garden supply company is overly expensive. I hope you turn the video into them and let them know you're disappointment in this product,it's a shame to spend that kind of money and things are already breaking.

Thanks so much for your support Cathy! I felt bad calling out this product in such a public way but i do feel it’s unfair to the consumer when the price does not correspond to the quality you receive and they know how much time and effort it would take to rebox something so large.
