Made me cry. He loved these students the same way I loved mine. I miss these kids so much. One of them climbed from F to B, just because she wanted to make me happy. That was her answer when I asked her how come she turned around when I became her teacher. The other teachers gave her up and would not believe her results in my classes. They saw her as a kid that would never accomplish nothing. Today she is a well educated woman working as a nurse for years. I was so proud of my students, I just loved them, and they were hanging around me cuddling my hair at 15 years old. I was fighting for them, and they gave me such joy! Today they are all 40 years old, having families and good jobs.❤

I believe in every student's life there is the one teacher that stands out in their memories. I had two; one in a bad way, the other in a very good way. You, I believe, have been the one, that has been remembered in a very good way, by your students. Congratulations, there are too few teachers that are remembered in this way, you have done well, and should be very proud. Thank you for being there for your students.

AGREED! More people should see this amazing movie because it truly does show that he was a brilliant and talented actor. Far more versatile than many Knew. He picked great roles that had moral compass and I for one am glad he did this movie. It immortalizes him doing a factictic film that is based on true life man that Inspired others for generations and so will his portrayal of Mr Clark inspire others' who want to be actors or are young actors to take on more difficult & challenging roles and Nail the part so well that people will never forget how the film Inspired and touched their hearts.

Matthew Perry did a magnificent job while playing this role of Ron Clark and I devoured every second seeing him and his family achieving all the credits and exceptional work they did together. And for anyone who is still reading my comment - there's an extraordinary American writer for young adults - Jason Reynolds - who wrote i.e. a novel called "long way down" which reminded me of him just when the part of this movie was mentioning this line. I loved everything about it! Thank you for uploading! 💛🧡❤💜

I had a teacher long ago in the middle 1960's.. If it were not for her and her style --I would have never did or went so far.. It was her encouragement --her sweet style, I shall never forget.. No one was like her in those times.. days before special ed. or any diagnosed DHD or things such as that.. The lady was the library teacher.. I had issues with reading, she helped me said this one simple thing " Read what ever your interested in, read a book a week ".. I did, I was under age 10.. I recall I read simple things, romance, then True Crime, evolved taught myself Latin.. I started a job at the bottom, learning everything --studying at night, working my way up to the top.. I read law, I represented myself in Court won cases.. People can do anything--but they need that 1 person to push or help start them.. Her name was Mrs. Washington.. may she RIP.. what a woman..

There aren’t enough words of praise for what this teacher did for these children, and for the many children after this. As a parent, I was so moved to tears, he cared, and he wasn’t afraid to let everyone know that he cared. I sincerely hope many teachers followed his example, and instead of giving up on (problem ) kids, taught them how to believe in themselves.

This was a fabulous movie, and Matthew Perry played such a fabulously real and believable part as Ron Clark. He showed that teachers need to use their knowledge and imagination to come up with teaching methods that fit the students and actually help them to achieve their potential -- rather than forcing down the same ole, same ole stuff as if they were widgets on an assembly line in a factory!! Working in a school is exhausting. But it can be the best job you’ll ever have. I remember one boy that had detention and most of the other kids were cleaning classrooms. He didn’t want to, so I made him a deal. If he went home and cleaned the floors in his house for his mother, we would be even. He came from a large family. His mother called me the next day to tell me she came home to a clean house. He did more than I asked. I guess it felt good to do something nice. 😄 Teaching young people how to be part of a community is part of the whole idea.

I saw this movie years ago and it's still just as great as it was then! 💖 I so wish I could have taught under this man's direction in his school! But I retired before his school opened. I had the same philosophy as he did... Give them the needed "building blocks" & teach them to love learning and they can learn anything! I had 2nd graders completing beginning algebra - including fractions - and loving those "no math today, just fun math puzzles"! My lesson plans for the week were out ❤and date by Wednesday by taking my lead from the kids! We had so much fun learning - in & out of the classroom. Sadly, today I'd be fired the 1st week for not presenting lessons as if the kids were robots. 😢 I'll NEVER forget the look on the Librarian's face when one freckle faced 4th grade boy asked if she had a recording of the works of Chaucer in the original Old English. Yeah. I loved teaching kids how to love learning! 💖

This movie is really inspiring. I'm a teacher and I will probably borrow some tips from Mr.Clark's experience. And I recognise myself going to work being sick, because we have some tests to pass. But to be honest, I can't imagine myself investing that much in my students' lives. I have my own family and my own kids to pay attention to. I can't spend extra hours with them after classes, I definitely can't help them make dinner or do their homework. I try to involve parents, but if they don't want to take responsibilty for their own kids, I can't make them.

Matthew Perry Had a real talent for acting. He was excellent in this movie. All his life, he looked for his parent's love and approval, but always found himself alone, with nobody to turn to. He must have felt terribly lonely. Unfortunately, he found comfort in the wrong things. Matthew Perry, you were an excellent actor and I hope that where you are, you find hapiness and approval. God bless you !

Alot of people had bad up bringing but they didn't all turn to drink and drugs. Have no sympathy for him. He knew what he was doing and still continued to do it. These actors get the money and then turn to drink and drugs so have no sympathy for him.

@@lizvickers7156 do you have no empathy at all? He took those things because he was depressed, and yeah it’s not good for you but if you start it’s almost impossible to stop. It’s not that simple…
