I agree, right now it reminds me of Lumetri in Pr. A simplified do it all thing for the newcommers. They should give more settings to finesse the split tone and the contrast/tone. Also the pivot point of Split Tone is at .3. Isn't DWG mid gray at .336? Sure it's not that far off but it should update depending on the color space used at the top. And the contrast has no pivot point which should again vary depending on the chosen color space + a custom option. It's weird they spent so much time for their own tools and got the pivot points wrong or non existent with a weak split tone. It almost feels they did it purposefully to not impact 3rd party DCTL creators. Speaking of which, there are some phenomenal tools out there, not just for creating but for monitoring exposure, colors, sat, skin. Hopefully this was just dipping their toes and they'll give us more.

Thanks for your feedback Zizos! You make a great point regarding the split one pivot. The contrast pivot seems to be linked to the tone curve you select as it seems to be updating properly. I think we need to give this tool some time and I'm sure they'll add some nice updates to give us more control :)

@@thedouglasdutton Thanks for creating these videos. Not sure if the devs are looking for such videos for criticism. Another question, what is that LG monitor you're using? It's your main monitor for grading, right?

Merci

Film look creator is like lightroom ibwish davinci couldnjus make it easy yo edit fotos and arrange them
@thedouglasdutton3 ай бұрын
Davinci hasn't been designed for editing photos but you can still do so and it's fun! Although Lightroom is great for organasing pictures

@@thedouglasdutton yeah I know u can still edit. Jus wish they could jus make it a replacement for lightroom. I really want to be out of Adobe totally

I tried film look creator and i dont like it. Yes you can do a lot but dehancer is just better and gives me better looks with the film stocks emulations. The ones in film look creator have strange names that mean nothing. In dehancer i know what i get seeing the names. In the creator you can create looks with dehancer you creat FILM looks
@thedouglasdutton3 ай бұрын
That's interesting! I think they're two totally different products. Film Look Creator offers a lot of customisation options when building your look. While Dehancer (I've yet to try it) seems to be more about slapping a look. Then you like it or you don't but customisation options are then very limited.
@andersistbesser3 ай бұрын
@@thedouglasdutton no, dehancer is not limited at all. You can change everything but the base is a film stock so the result always looks authentic.

That music, if one could call it music… Is so obnoxious. Why do you think a tutorial needs music?
