Never heard of this one before. Love the several references to Edmund Gwenn playing Santa. He was great in this part. The whole cast was great.

Well-acted, too. Lupino was an excellent director, and a great actress. Edmond O'Brien was very touching. Visuals are stunning/black and white, sharp. Joan Fontaine was surely one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood.

BUENISIMA PELICULA CLASICA. MUY REAL EN ESOS TIEMPOS, EL TEMA DEL BIGAMISMO. EL PROTAGONISTA SE SENTÍA SOLO Y SURGIÓ POR EL ARTE DEL DESTINO A LA SEGUNDA MUJER, Y ESTA NO LE HACIA SENTIRSE SOLO.. EL PROTAGONISTA ES INOCENTE. GRACIAS POR MOSTRAR ESTA PELICULA TAN INTERESANTE Y PLANTEABLE COMO COLOQUIO.

I see this movie more as a melodrama than a film noir for the simple reason that Harry Graham was a relatively decent man who made bad choices- and had to pay the piper at the end. Harry certainly should have quit his traveling sales job much earlier and stay home more often.
@m.j.c.6969Ай бұрын
That doesn't make it not a noir.

There is a "colorized" version of this fine film. But I much prefer, "black and white"! Colorization is an unfortunate afterthought. f
@m.j.c.6969Ай бұрын
There is NO "colorized version" of this film. It has NEVER been properly colorized. Assholes online will often add shitty and inaccurate algorithmic color to films including this one but it has not been actually colorized properly by anyone!

Love ,Romance and Lust. Though they look synonyms, but their is a difference. A man expects his wife to play all the above 3 which is a rare among women. That's the time a Man looks for outside relationship to fulfill his desires. This is my thought which may be wrong.
@laurakibben41477 ай бұрын
@bst8255 Very wrong when it's been ingrained that a woman is all but useless if she can't conceive. Humans only learn love after years, going thru difficulties together not seeking out another. Men truly suck at that and always have. They withdraw during sickness and health because of lust and as opposed to staying and putting it aside (their lust).

You know there’s an old saying “It’s a shame to belong to someone else, when the right one comes along” All he wanted was to be loved. His first wife treated him as an object and not a husband.
