Now this kind of offense is tricky for the defense to follow but not crazy hard for the offense to do- it just requires good timing and route running. Now that Fields is gone I could easily see CW running Waldron’s scheme well. I get a good feeling about the match.

So many negative comments yet look at what Waldron has done with Geno Smith and a banged up OL. The examples in the video clearly show WRs getting schemed open and unique play design/formation. Let’s keep an open mind and trust Poles along with the rest of the professionals to do their job and continue building toward success.

What's funny about that play at 1:45 is that those same 49ers used that exact play in week 15 of the previous year against the Seahawks and it went for an easy TD to George Kittle. When I saw it used against the 49ers with the same result a year later I thought that was hilarious.

That first play with the double fake screen was used by the Niners in last year's week 15 game against the Seahawks, ending in a Kittle touchdown. It was so satisfying to see Waldron make them taste their own medicine! But no, it was not that creative on Waldron's part. Gotta give them credit for executing the play with Parkinson instead of Kittle though!

Idk man I also watched every Seahawks game and he almost never throws or schemes routes for the middle of the field. Everything is long developing routes down the sideline. I don’t know the numbers off hand but I know I saw something like 70%+ of genos completions were to the sidelines last year… The biggest issue it caused imo was horrific redzone offense numbers. When a D has the endline as an extra defender and just needs to cover the two corners of the end zone it’s SO easy to stop

Hold your horses. Every CW fan thinks that resetting the QB position is the cheaper option. In reality if you take the draft capital it keeps cheap talent coming through the Bears organization which creates a cycle of more draft capital as you can trade valuable players for more draft capital prior to rookie contracts expiring. There is a priceless principle at work in this situation. If you take CW about 8 rookie contracts are going to come up in about 2 to 3 years and it will be more than the Bears have space for so they will have to replace players with sub par talent and pay 2 or 3 players they choose to keep. With a salary cap and the state of rookie contracts draft capital becomes priceless. If the Bears take CW they better make a Super Bowl run in the next 3 years and year 1 will likely be a wash. If you take the draft capital you have years of good talent and multiple chances to get the right formula. For that reason it doesn’t matter if JF is better than CW.
@SanjitT
@SanjitT 3 ай бұрын
Although that's true, talent doesn't matter without a good QB. Fields may never develop and could be a bust. His issue is sometimes he doesn't see things in front of him and he can't play within a structure. Williams can do all of that.
@mihnic0504
@mihnic0504 3 ай бұрын
@@SanjitT JF was the better college QB. He played better competition and played for a national championship. CW had 30 fumbles in 31 games. Also, it doesn’t even matter. If you take CW you have one chance to win it all. If you take the draft capital the Bears will start a cycle in which you keep young discounted talent coming through the organization which gives the Bears multiple chances for years to come. The CW pick is short sighted and is putting all your eggs in one basket. Besides CW has some character issues and if people truly want him to do well then he should stick with Kingsbury. However, no matter how much sense this makes the CW fans are too emotional over the situation to think clear about things.

Draft Caleb? You just lost me bro. Firstly, if you keep JF1 and trade #1 pick, you get 1st in ‘24, 1st in ‘25, plus probably a 2cd in ‘24 and ‘25. Draft MHJ, and the best LT with the 9th pick, then you can draft 3 other 1st and 2cd round picks this year and next year. You will then have at least 4-5 top draft picks on rookie deals for the next 4 years, and you can watch JF1, the 1 or 2 most athletically gifted QB in the NFL become an ABSOLUTE STAR and put the Bears in playoff contention starting next year. You would only have to pay JF1 for 5th year option to keep him thru 2025. If he doesn’t work out next year…you can draft a great QB in 2025 w 1st round pick from trading away #1 pick this year…probably top 5 pick and release/cut JF1. “resetting the QB contract scale” is overrated. JF1 has never had the skilled weapons or OL to show his true potential; check the OSU tape. Remember the Clemson game? JF1 threw 6 TD passes w broken ribs! Caleb could not have done that!! Btw…put Caleb on the Bears the last 3 yrs, and he is a bust. JF1 has shown his potential greatness, toughness, and leadership by never complaining!! Go back to the CLE game w Nagy when JF1 was hit or sacked 15 times…no complaints. Caleb would’ve been carted off the field. Plus…ATL game in ‘23…that 1st TD pass in the snow to DJ2 was an ABSOLUTE DIME!! Does Caleb make that throw in the snow???

Seahawks fan here. The worry with Waldron was never that he doesn't have a punch, it's that he has no counter punch. His opening scripts were very effective all year long and then after that's it's been simply anemic. He's been regularly out-coached (Rams and 9ers twice, Ravens, Steelers). Overall his work was largely fine - sometimes exciting, oftentimes frustrating to watch. One of the biggest upsides mentioned in this vid is "he can get guys open", which if you can't do that, what *are* you doing?

You really thought they going bring in top tier OC who was getting HC jobs looks but turn out 2 of the 3 guys pick to stay on their current team. They did pretty good job when few of the other guys they interviewed got hired as OC for other teams.

Dear Bears fans: If you like an offense with no quick/easy reads in the middle of the field, no pocket movement to help out a mediocre oline, garbage tier situational playcalling (unblocked bubble screens on 3&7 with your 3rd string receiver) and a qb holding the ball way too long and getting sacked, then you'll love the Shane Waldron offense! From what I've heard, those are exactly the things that lost Luke Getsy (and presumably justin fields) the job, so have fun ruining another athletic "high-upside" qb who couldn't find an open receiver if they were sitting on his lap!

@@notorioustbg Sour grapes are more colorful than Waldron's 4 year old Great Value "Mcvay-ian" system. DK metcalf eat those sour grapes like Beast Mode's Skittles and bout to go for 1500 in a Grubb offense that actually schemes up plays to get the most out of his best players and elevate the offense. Waldron bout to turn DJ moore into a streak running decoy and turn Jesper Horstead (or whoever the hell the Bears' 3rd TE is these days) into a featured weapon. Not to mention having to deal with whatever lightskin athletic 1 read passing-back GM Ryan -Pace- Poles picks to lead da beers in his final season of an embarrasing tenure as a fantasyfootball-tier gm

Caleb is a better processor and reads coverage a lot better. They're nowhere near the same player. Also, Fields has had 3 years..we are still unsure. CJ Stroud and Justin Herbert showed us in 1 year that they're legit players. There's always a chance Fields is an NFL Bust.
