The only reason not to put Mahomes in the GOAT conversation is because he can still do more. Effectively shutting down the debate. You don't need to put him in the goat conversation, just wait a while and your argument gets better every year. KC will get a great WR in the draft and the tri-peat will be their easiest SB so far.

I never thought the Chiefs would lose for the simple fact that the Niners were not able to capatilze on Mahomes and the offense being neutralized in the 1st 3 quarters. The fact it was close goin into the 4th I knew Mahomes would find a way to win it, it's what he does
@andrewsercer95389 ай бұрын
Well, you asked, but I will preface my comment with the acknowledgement that I'm completely biased and even if I wasn't a Chiefs fan, my knowledge of the game isn't good enough to offer anything of substance. But I will say ... This was definitely an amazing SB run. I'm not one of the KC fans who just swallow (some) of the national media's coronation of Mahomes as King. I like to look at how the whole team performs and look at energy, emotion, and...... togetherness ... whatever. I saw a completely different team between the regular season and the postseason. But more than that, I'm happy because even though some (jealous) fans would say it's boring for the same teams to win every time, I am all about witnessing excellence .. preferably even perfection ... and witnessing players hungry to achieve the "impossible" And while the 9ers' qb story WAS exactly that (if I wasn't a KC fan I would've been rooting for SF 100% in this SB not because of jealousy of the Chiefs, but for the underdog story of Brock Purdy) ... I like to see players who not only climb the highest mountains, but also stay hungry and motivated enough to STAY there and find new ways to continually get an edge and just do enough to win. That's what I just saw and it was absolutely amazing.

For the 2nd time in 4 years, a Chiefs-9ers SB was decided by a superior class of QB play. Until the 9ers invest in &/or develop a true franchise QB (instead of just plugging one QB after another into a preexisting system), they will continue to get their hearts broken time & again.

They beat the 49ers because they were always the better team. It was a microcosm of the entire season in that the Chiefs made a couple of horrible mistakes (Pacheco fumble and Sneed Personal Foul), the Opponent got multiple Drive Extending (on Offense) and Drive Killing (on Defense) penalties at the exact perfect times, the Chiefs got horrible Drops from statistically one of the worst WR Corps of the last Decade, and IT STILL DIDN’T MATTER!!!
@remonel23549 ай бұрын
11:30-12:10 mark - Mahomes had his mind made up on who he was going to in that goal line situation. If Mahomes had not had his mind made up, then he would have hit Rashee Rice over the middle of the end zone for a TD. Then there would have been no need to go into OT. The Chiefs would have won 24-19. This is the play that caused Rashee Rice to say something to Mahomes on the sidelines.

The Chiefs' defense, primarily the blitzing, is what beat the 49ers. The 49ers' pass-protection didn't show up for the blitz packages. THAT is what did the 49ers in. So, it wasn't necessarily the Chiefs' offense (Mahomes) that beat the 49ers, it was their defense.

You are mostly, but not entirely correct. It was both the Chief offense and defense...but primarily the defense that legitimately defeated the 49ers. The Chiefs embarrassed the 49ers by completely shutting down the 49er running game...no big gains and only a handful of positive yardage plays.
