I really liked Man of Steel. It’s sucks that Henry Cavill isn’t playing Superman. Imo he’s the best to play the character, since Christopher Reeve.

I never got why they didn't use the template of the animated justice league movie with the alien invasion as a template. The part where Batman is 'Killed' would have hit different...it introduced all the characters in a decent way.

Good Point. I do think Singer did it right. X-men comics are dramas with superheroes. Pretty heavy content. Those Chris Claremont X-men comics the movies are based on are deeper then a cable dramas.

Hey Tyrone. Love your videos man. Now, I liked Man of Steel. It was a great movie filled everything you could like/love about Superman. My issue was writing in the plot that he has to kills Zod to protect a family and I get it, but, this is his FIRST exposure to the world. Where, he's trying to save the planet a world that does not yet know WHO Superman really is while also trying to keep these morals and values regardless of his planetary race. I know Superman has killed before in the comics and shown in animated movies... But ONLY after he's been well established... Not only as a character to us, but who Superman is to the world. I just think that it was a scene too soon to show if he's trying to get the world to trust him. Sometimes the ends don't always justify the means.

I don't think he's actually read many comics. His tonal issues are more a romanticized version of the characters. The comics are way more mature than he's giving them credit for. All the marvel movies he said didn't feel like comic book movies were strait adaptations from the comics.

Marvel's secret is they gave all their different and unique superheroes a sense of humor in each of their own separate movies. That way, when they all met for the avengers movies, humor was the common ground for them to work together well on screen. It wasn't off brand for any of them, and the movies could actually have a common background theme to them.

Superman isn't dark and gritty. The key would have been having Superman being upbeat and optimistic even at the darkest moments. He represents hope, having him depressed and brooding is not Superman.
