@@Cdawg_6969 it's kinda weird. I've seen a lot of people objecting "No, saying they're demons is just trying to cope with a bad alien movie full of plot-holes". But when the supposed plot-holes all point in one direction quite neatly and cleverly, then the simpler solution is that they're plot points rather than holes. It does seem that some folks really dislike Shyamalan, and thus prefer to regard it as a bad alien movie, rather than consider that it might be a fairly good demon movie. Or maybe I'm just missing something.

Not really....weak demons aren't much of a step-up from incompetent aliens. Also, there are hints that play towards this theory but not enough tangibles. It relies on an audience to subjectively make these inferences and isn't objectively showing that these are demons. Demons that can't stand up to a baseball bat and a common kitchen knife aren't really more compelling than unprepared aliens.

I believe M. Night Shyamalan did indeed confirm on an interview that the "Aliens" in the movie are in fact demons of some sort. I think he stated that the idea was if demons somehow appeared today, people would simply think they were aliens. It all makes a bit more sense if they are demons, as if they were simply an extra-terrestrial humanoids they would work a lot less. That aside though they're technically my most favorite "Alien" creature even yet to date, more so than the actual Alien/Xenomorph and Predator/Yautja which I love. There was just something about them that made them way creepier to me than almost any other alien in a movie.

I enjoyed Signs and this theory clears up the plot hole of Aliens who are fatally allergic to water evading a planet which is 2/3 water. Plus it wasn't just water it was holy water blessed by the only one in the family who still had faith.

Still makes no sense to invade a planet full of water when water is your fatal weakness. Let it rain and they're dead. No one cann tell me that they aren't aware of their weakness. Doesn't make it much better to say that they are demons. Even for a demon this is total BS. The holy water theory however makes much more sense. But this doesn't work either as the movie gave several hints that they are afraid of water in general which is the reason why Shyamalan's character searches for a place where he is surrounded by water.

I'm honestly pleased with this, even as a child watching I recognized it to be very faith based and religious tones. Oddly, I always felt it was merely a dream of Grams. He wakes into the dream world. The events following, were as extravagant as a very lucid dream is, that he took in and saw as the answers he was looking for. That’s why we see him (after he awoke) putting his priest clothing back on in the final scene. There’s no mention or sight of any alien activity after this. It just seems as if none of it had ever happened. Am I alone in this idea?

It doesn't have to be a dream, if it's about God testing a man, he could go through everything and then the world brought back to order, once he passed the tests. I'm not a Christian, but I do remember when Jesus was in the desert and was tempted by the Enemy/Satan/God, he was shown Golden kingdoms, and threatened, and had women made to seduce him. It's very much the same as a Zoroastrian story, and the enlightenment of Siddhartha Guatama, the Buddha, where there is a battle of wits in a cosmic realm. Your theory is good, and would have been a great ending for this video.

Awesome breakdown of this, my very favorite movie, despite: a) I'm typically someone who's too dense to understand symbolism. b) Never cared for Sci-Fi. This film helps us understand the reasons for our own failings, setbacks and losses in life. Surely everyone has experienced a seemingly negative crossroad that led us eventually to a better place. If someone is just watching Signs as a popcorn thriller, they TOTALLY miss the point. It reminds us that there is a plan for our lives ....each of us.

I really like this theory, but it just came to me while considering it. First off, I liked this theory so much that I want it to be right, but if they were demons sent to the surface, often times that implies they have a mission (because something being sent anywhere is done with a purpose) so then why hide throughout the movie. Then it’s more plausible that people were able to fend off an alien invasion rather than a/an near apocalyptic event. Also, their limbs don’t grow back with the use of kitchen knives, meaning literally any weapon you can find can kill the demon or alien: knives, guns, grenades, fire and so on. Maybe that last one is a problem with the movie, but either way I really liked this theory and I definitely loved signs.

Demons don't fly spaceships...or leave crop circles.. The caveat of the script is pretty simple. Signs refers to the "signs" that society ignores everyday. The basement scene is the code breaker. The main character, "Father"...tells you in his own words. Listen carefully to his lines when they first prop the door behind them. You'll see how deceptive the world around you really is. This director and producer is very adept at revealing all these things. Same in "The Village"... He's showing you how society will NEVER be perfect. The power structure you attempt to escape, becomes the very measure of rule you inflict on others....liberty is a cruel master. Fear is how you rally and rule a society.

I looked it more like a film about man fighting his alcohol abuse problem. Look at the script. He is a priest whose wife was killed in a car crash. He was left all alone with 2 little children. He developed a drinking problem, got suspended from his work and has gotten worse and worse. His brother had to move with him to help and take care of his neglected children. Symbolism is all there, from delirium to drinks left around the house. We only see one alien in the move, naked like they could live on our planet like that. Space suits, you need space suits. The movie is about his journey of detox and suffering of him and his family during the process. Smashing those glasses is symbolic of giving up on drinking after his son had a near death experience and barely survived.

Something that gives more evidence to this theory is that Satan is referred to in the bible as "the prince of the power of the air." as of now, according to the bible, Satan and the demons (fallen angels) exist in the air, between earth and heaven, symbolically standing between us and God. There is one big glaring hole in the theory, though. Explain the technical, clearly spaceship, sounds picked up by the baby monitors. If this was demons it'd be picking up maybe something similar to the sounds, maybe an omnious sound encompassing the monitor, in the baby monitor, but the technical processing sounds clearly heard in the movie indicate otherwise.

I disagree. to me the sounds coming from the baby monitor didnt sound technical at all. they sounded like groans and moans. very otherwordly. Another thing to take into account is theres a theory among christians that way back in our history when humans were mating with demons and were creating nephilem we were extremely technologically advanced before god sent his wrath. Demons can very easily use technology and alot of conspiricy theorist think all these ufo sightings we see today are demons

@@elibrainless90 we must agree to disagree. The technology sounded too aliens. But we're talking only in the context of the movie. In real life I agree most "aliens" are demons. But I wouldn't discount the possibility of alien life in other planets. The Bible doesn't say there is but doesn't say there isn't either

@@robjackson5245 I think what i love about this movie is its all really up to interpretation. There's evidence to suggest that both theory's could be possible! So it lets the wide audience come up with there own horrifying conclusions. Its why this might be my favorite alien movie of all time
