I’m fascinated by the choice to have a highly advanced humanoid species, but establish that they’re actually ancient and existed in the time of the dinosaurs on our planet. It’s more “Star Wars” than Star Wars lol. A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away… I love it. The movie is excellent, no it’s not going to win an Oscar but it’s so much fun and incredibly well made. Apparently no one told Adam Driver to blow off his role because he’s all in.

I like the idea that the "aliens" to the protagonists are simply creatures from our planet, lol. It's such a nice reversal to the usual Sci-FI formula for movies like this, where the aliens are actually aliens from a different planet than ours. In this one the alien planet IS our planet, hah. The movie reminded me of OutLander 2008 film: When a spacecraft crashes in Norway during the Iron Age, two figures emerge from the wreckage: Kainan (James Caviezel), an alien soldier, and the Moorwen, his mortal enemy. The latter immediately starts cutting a path of destruction through the Norse lands, while Kainan sees a chance to meld his advanced technology with ancient Viking weaponry to destroy the Moorwen before it destroys Earth. In a sense, there were theories about ancient aliens: human colonized earth millions of years. I think the producers of "65" were exploring those ideas or theories to make 65 happen

It'll never show the human survivors but the audience will question, are they supposed to be Adam and Eve? That could've been dope, I feel like since they were in cryo, that could've given it a pass for them being asleep until earth was habitable again then somehow they got released from the pods.

@ObsessiveGeek Жыл бұрын
I was expecting Adams character to have to sacrifice himself, I feel like that would have been a bit more realistic than having them both escape in time. Could have still shown her leaving from his perspective just before the dino gets him, that way he could have passed on peacefully knowing his fate had some purpose rather than only having the guilt of not being around for his daughter. Would have made the ending more dramatic too, though I guess he gets to adopt her so they both have someone to fill the role that’s been left.

@Ded Med I'm a movie head, I go to the movies 2, 3 times a week if new movies are out. I've enjoyed everything from box office bombs to bollywood. My apologies for not being like you a 5 star rating in life, 5 star restaurants, 5 star workouts, 5 star relations, 5 star looks, etc. I'm a simple man that watches all movies to enjoy them, some movies I go in with expectations and often I'm disappointed. This movie was surprisingly entertaining, I didn't spend my money thinking I was going to watch Tropic Thunder, Sling Blade, 12 years a slave, Forrest Gump, etc. I wanted to watch a simple little 4 am. quickie movie to satisfy my thirst for b movie entertainment, after a long week of work. And 65 exceeded my expectations. So chill out Siskel and ebert, not everyone can be as "cULtUrEd" as you.

Yes I just saw it and it’s nice to see Kylo Ren lol Adam play a role that he seemed to better fit!! I feel he really would have done better with a different version of Ben Solo then what we got

I hope there's a sequel or prequel of this movie.From how they got to the new planet they live on to what happened after they got off of the prehistoric earth

Everything interesting about these characters was revealed in this movie, we do not need to see any more.

I would assume the advanced human-like Somaris civilization collapsed sometime later, as we have no evidence of them. It also suggests that all life in the Universe has a common ancestor, and that homo-sapien like species will always eventually evolve on terran planets. Unsettling but also inspiring to think that 'mankind' has evolved and gone extinct multiple times. The unsettling part is that it means there's a great filter AHEAD of us, but sentient life has more than one chance to overcome it.
@kashutosh9132 Жыл бұрын
But bro that's a big assumption and also this is a fictional movie.

there were really people who actually watched this whole movie without falling asleep? whoa! I don't know how you guys did it, but my hat's off to you. I fell asleep three times so far trying to watch it, anytime I need to get to sleep fast I plan on throwing this movie on for the rest of my life.

Then I can only assume you are sleep deprived since this movie is filled with action, is very well paced and is relatively short. There’s a TON of far worse movies than this.

Adam Driver was really good in this, I saw ir at the cinema, and enjoyed it, but I had 2 issues. One was parts of the film seemed to be a series of action shots stitched together, and the second one was where were all the herbivores? Given there were so many dinos out to get them, what were they feeding on before the humans arrived? I think the filmed missed a step here.

Go stand in the woods And then argue with me that there's no such thing as a deer just because you didn't see them there are millions of deer all over the place but just because you walk 5 miles and don't see one doesn't mean they arent there so no reason to put them in the story it's implied they're there
@slamdunk6161 Жыл бұрын
@@trixxter8494 Well I guess those carnivores were ordering in, because there was a bucket load of them in the walk to the crash site, and no sign of their breakfast, lunch or dinner along the way.

We saw this movie last weekend and thought it was fantastic. I was amazed to see how many people were giving it a negative review. Baffling to me. Saying that having the two not able to speak the same language was a huge mistake by the studio. For me(and my wife) we felt this made the movie that much better and provided another level of focus to understand all that was going on

Only review you need is: Movie is terrible/boring. Watch it on a Tuesday afternoon while having lunch. Anyone who says “Cult Classic” is trolling or brain dead. If you know any of them, call an ambulance.

...I like how this film just brushes away the fact that humanity has had an interstellar empire for more than 65 million years and somehow either we are the aliens or we're derived from them and the rest of the alien/human empire is silent.
