The criminal was in the store with Watson and LeStrade Holmes was watching the criminal and stayed behind the counter The criminal was trying to find the message in the book but he couldn’t find it on the shelf so he grabbed it from the checkout and he ran off There was no plot flaw

I have found a plot flaw in this episode...by the time Watson and Inspector Lestrade walked out the door to discover the book swap, Holmes had enough time took through the book for the hidden message that he was sure was in it...after watching this wonderful episode countless times, I finally saw a flaw that was overlooked in this particular episode...with respect of course.
