Hi Griffin, thanks for all the videos, you have really helped me with my journey to the C70 which I have only had for two weeks. Can I ask what lenses you run on the C70? Are you still using the Speedbooster? Just need to watch looking into the sun by the looks of feedback I have seen online. oh by the way I downloaded your Luts so hope to use those soon as well. Thanks Martin here in Australia
@GriffinConway2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the support! I use the speed booster a lot (unless I’m using PL glass). It flares a bit more but 95% of the time I can’t notice it. I use a lot of EF glass with it and like that it can give it the full frame look.
@DuffTV2 жыл бұрын
Hey Griffin the only EF glass I have is an old 24-105 mark 1 so its not like I have invested in glass yet. So I'm torn between just going RF but then even with the RF16-35 its really only giving you 21-50 thereabouts. I've got the speedbooster but then do I go EF or RF? I'm sure you probably talk about it in other videos but what lenses you typically using? Do you ever use RF glass? Thanks heaps

Hey Griffin - Can you show your audio setup? How you lav for BTS, placement, and gear you use to attach it?
@laurencejfilmsandphotograp21322 жыл бұрын
Hi Griffin, Love this. I have the r5 and c70 . Two questions:- Q1 The JVKE x GC luts link states that it works on the canon r5 too. But comments below indicate it is not for canon log3. can you confirm? Q2 How do you deal with getting the same look from the D-log footage you presumably shot on the drone? Do you just do you best to match up? Thanks Laurence
@jvke.p2 жыл бұрын
It’s less camera specific, more log specific. There are some differences between cameras, but those can be remedied in color correction. As for your second question, again, this just comes down to color correction. Perhaps we’ll make a video on how to handle this scenario soon?

Thanks for the vid man! Very interesting to see the crew work together in similar situations i find myself in sometimes. Natural light, spaces that have not been prepared and figuring out the shots… Also cool to see you direct in the moments that were not all planned out, asking questions, coming up with shots on the fly. Really cool project! The look of the video is great too. Does anything speak against using the LUT on Clog2 from a c300ii?
@GriffinConway2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much bro! I really love shoots like this where we can still be creative on the fly. A lot of the shoots I do we have every single shot planned and it is still fun, but it doesn't feel quite as creatively fulfilling. I think the lut should look great with the c300 mark ii in clog 2. It is really designed for any cameras that can capture in clog 2.
@Nath.Heimberg2 жыл бұрын
@@GriffinConway i can imagine that this was a fun shoot for all you guys! Do you ever worry about having too much footage and taking longer to edit? 5 Cameras do create looots of media 😬 Thanks, i really wanna try the LUT!
@GriffinConway2 жыл бұрын
@@Nath.Heimberg ya sometimes I worry about that. But since it was only a half day shoot really I ended up needing a lot of the footage so I think it was a good call. Also, a lot of the time we were only rolling one camera (gimbal shots, portait shots, rolling shots out of the car).

Outstanding Griffin. Thank YOU. Question. Your talking head background light has way less bloom (nice!). Is it the absence of promist? Next question: on C70? Did you use RAW LT?
@GriffinConway2 жыл бұрын
Hey Ron! Thanks for watching like usual. Always appreciate it 🙌 I actually shot the talking head portion super last minute because I forgot to shoot my intro 😂 so I just grabbed the first camera I had next to me which was the r3 in clog3 with the canon 24-70. Usually I use a canon 35 1.4 with a 1/4 pro mist. It smooths my skin out a little nicer hahaha. For the commercial we used raw LT. I can’t tell a difference between the LT and ST so I like the smaller file sizes. Thanks again for watching!

Just bought the LUT. And it looks and Works great on the c70. But it def looks funky on the clog3 from the 10bit R5c, which I know is not what is designed for. It looks better on the raw when decoding in clog2 but the jury is still out on whether that’s recommended for RAW from this camera. Would be awesome if there was a clog3 version to better match the cameras.
@GriffinConway2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Christian! How are you liking the r5c compared to the c70? I will reach out to Jake and see if he wants to make a clog3/cinema gamut version. I would use that with the r3 as well.

Christian…if all other things were equal (fort factor, battery life, etc) which camera would you grab for image quality only?
@ChristianSantiagophoto2 жыл бұрын
@@jasonnowwhat5041 Man that's a hard question. I did a pretty extensive first impressions video if you're really interested in hearing my thoughts. But to summarize: if you want a more detailed image, the R5c is your ticket. If you want better dynamic rnage and smoother highlight rolloff, the C70, albeit with a much softer image.

How is the battery life of the IDX Nano batteries running on C500MKII? Are you using the 98 or 150?
@GriffinConway2 жыл бұрын
It’s hard to say because I run my monitor off the same battery and it’s a power hungry high bright 7” with built in teradek. I haven’t timed it but I usually use two of the IDX 150’s and it gets me through most shoot days. On super long days I’ll use one extra 98
