You wouldn't believe how helpful this advice re low lighting has been. My previous tactic was to shoot in the light I wanted, but then whack up the iso to try and see what I wanted to see. I was doing the complete opposite of what I should have been doing! Fill with light, iso down! Not only does it give a great low-light image, but I've found that keeping the ISO on it's lowest setting permanently gives such a sharper, cleaner image, whether in low light or not. So that's what I do now. Shutter speed 1/50, ISO 32, white balance locked at 5600. It helps so much in post, too. Thanks buddy!

With low iso (50) on iphone 12 the autofocus is struggling and constantly reajusting back and forth (seems to be better at iso 200 and up). Does everyone experience this? Also the width of area where it is reading the depth seems to vary depending on the iso (the reticle area is useless). If i focus on the background and bring some foreground object near the reticle, depending on the iso the autofocus will react when the foreground object is closer to the reticle.

firslty - using a higher ISO will cause more noise in the image. secondly in this video will see that I am using manaul focus not auto focus under the conditions. Under low light auto focus will always struggle. aviod using the recticles for either focusing or auto exposures in these situations

I'm curious to know the name/brand of the light that can be seen at 1:02.

Hi - they come in a pair (dimmable control) and range from Daylight to tungsten - you can purchase off amazon - one of the makes is neewer 👍

@@gomakefilms Thx for the ultrafast reply. Did you ever use them with NP-F550/750/970 batteries? If so, could you perhaps give some indication on how long they will be able to run on batteries (i.e. 30/60/90 minutes)?

@@MichelUlmann sorry they are not battery operated - they are mains connected which I use for interior and studio filming

@@gomakefilms Interesting, because the ones I found on the Neweer website can do both. I guess I‘ll need to give them a try. Keep up the great tutorials!
