you’re right, it was a 50mm on a crop sensor, so in really the image is a bit larger than a true 50mm. Also, yes I think I was a 75-200mm inside the chapel because I didn’t want to disturb the ceremony, so I stayed in the back to get those shots. Other than that, I believe I used the 50mm

The Tiny Traveler I mainly just had to back up a lot more than usual. Of course the compression wasn’t exactly the same as if I were shooting with a 24mm per se, but it was good enough. Also, mixing in medium and tight angles made my “wide” shots seems more wide than it actually was

Which did you like more? With the kitlens or the 50mm? I think I miss the wide shots in this one.
@edwardwmills2 жыл бұрын
sorry for the late response, I admittedly liked using the 50mm more because of the lenience it gives via, f stop, and the ability to get tight shots. However, now I prefer using a zoom lens for increased variability. On my gh5 I have a 12-35mm (which equates to 24-70mm on regular sensors) lens and I enjoy using that more than the 25mm (50mm equivalent) lens. I was probably enamored with the new feel of the lens and more or less neglected wide angled shots (which are extremely important to establishing location). Hope this helps

This is amazing. I’m shooting a wedding in 2 weeks and I’m nervous. I have a T7i with a 50mm, an 18mm-135mm and a Ronin S. I’m feeling unprepared. How did you get prepared and what were some things that helped you the day of? Thanks :)
@edwardwmills5 жыл бұрын
For starters, be sure you're familiar with your camera's settings. try to adjust them as soon as you enter a new environment so that you can focus on capturing precious moments. Also, test out some angles. One move with the ronin s that I really like doing is walking around an object while keeping it in the centre of the frame, essentially a slow pan. I did this a lot of times, you can as well. Next, if you know an important moment is coming up, play it safe. You don't want to miss moments like the infamous "you may kiss the bride" scene. Lastly, this first wedding is your practice. You have to start somewhere, feeling unprepared for something like this is natural, I did so myself, just unstand that you are 10x better than what you may think you are right now, in the eyes of whoever hired you. Take that confidence to the wedding and crush it! Hope this helped!

@@edwardwmills Did you film this weeding alone ? Is this the principal video or just a teaser ? Did you film in c log or cinestyle profile ? Good job !
@edwardwmills2 жыл бұрын
@@luismendesfilms This was the actual wedding video. And yeah, I filmed this alone. I shot in cinestyle. As for advice, being nervous is normal, I was extremely nervous as well. What helps with that is telling yourself that you were asked to filmed because they liked your work/are confident in your ability to do a good job. Make sure you have multiple batteries and bring your charger. Whenever you have downtime, charge them if possible. Also bring multiple SD cards just in case you’re unlucky and one decides to stop working. For the actual filming, try to give yourself options when editing so film a close up, a medium, and far shot when you are just filming decorations and location. Also switch the angles up. When it comes to the more important shots, like during the actual ceremony, it is best to just be safe and get basic shots. You wouldn’t want to miss those. Lastly, when you’re filming people, always expose for them, it is better to have a blown out background and correctly exposed people than the other way around. Hope this helps, if you have any other questions just let me know.

Thank you man! I shot on the CineStyle profile, it's not a default profile so you have to download it. There should be numerous youtube videos on how to do so. If not, then use the neutral profile. I shot at the lowest f stop possible so f1/.8 or f/4.5for my kit lens depending on the zoom. I shot outdoor scenes at iso 100 and indoor scenes at or below 800 iso. My shutter remained at 1/125 the entire time.

Any tips on autofocus on 200d? Seems you were able to hit the nail on your shots each time even with cameras limited AF hardware
@edwardwmills Жыл бұрын
honestly a lot of luck is involved if you rely on AF. for some shots, like the scene in the chapel, i used AF to get the image focused, then switched to MF to keep it there. for shots that i could just take again if i wasn’t satisfied with it, i just used AF. if you are skilled with MF, and you are in a situation where you only have 1 chance to get the shot, i’d recommend using MF. if you can simply retake the shot if its not sharp, then you can use AF. hope this helps :)
