I feel kind of bad for the dog challenge one. She clearly put her all into making that dish, the fact that no one in her team corrected her is a bit more concerning. I understand the switch to team was out of the blue but they heard and saw what she was making. They wanted her to fail. I get being in a kitchen is competitive but you need to be able to rely on your team.

it wasnt fully competitive atm though outside red v blue. them not helping her only screwed their WHOLE team out. plus the show also teaches how to work as a unit of which that team greatly lacked

Suzanne rubbed me the wrong way right after she made that statement about her food and her arrogance. The Welcome home episode aggravated me but also made me happy at the same time. The aggravation for Suzanne’s awful, awful ‘leadership’ and cockiness but what made me happy was seeing everything that she boasted about and the ‘surefire win’ blew up in her face. Honestly she should’ve been eliminated when she questioned Chef Ramsey on their lost in another dinner service by requesting ‘a play by play’ on their service. I remember thinking ‘Oh my god, she did not just say that!’ Robert’s comment about her stupidity was spot on.

To the last one, a customer should never have to speak with the cooks directly to ask for the food. That's what the server is for. She completely ignored this, basically asking for unfiltered information. The cooks aren't there to deal with the customers directly unless something serious is going on. Delayed food is not serious enough.

To be fair to Wendy, before I knew too much about cooking, I'd been told that cold water boils faster than warm water. Which I realize is completely counterintuitive. But I can understand her hearing that before.

its a common myth that has been disproven. The discrepancy in temp causes the cold water to take in heat faster than hot water would, but that's only until it's not cold anymore, so it still takes longer to make it boil than if you just used hot water, and this is where the misconception comes from.

I'm fully aware that in the end this is a competitive show but like, there's too many instances where the competing chefs dont work as a team or act completely antisocial during dinner rushes and are almost never called out for it. Like isnt the point of the position they're all fighting for basically require that they form teamwork/social skills? How can you be a leading chef when you cant even communicate with your team?

I've heard that cold water heats up faster by several different adults when I was a kid. There is an old wives tell that claims cold water will heat up faster. Some people even claim to understand the science behind it and say that the water molecules are able to be stimulated more easily while they are cold. It doesn't make sense, but they believe it, and then they pass that false information on to their kids.

For the last "customer", the one who she needed to talk to is the maî·tre d' (Chef Ramsey's assistant on the floor, aka head of the waiters) the kitchen isn't really responsible for taking the orders. Was it John Felippe? That's the person she should've asked or at least one of the waiters.

I dont think that would have mattered, honestly. She wanted the chefs to know that she was an impatient brat. I think her being escorted out was a good call. Who the hell throws things at chefs in a professional kitchen. Sure, waiting a long time for food sucks. But, she chose to go to Hell's Kitchen, where it's known people can wait a long time for food.

On the last one, if I don't remember wrongly, that wasn't the entire encounter with the costumer. I think I saw on Hell's Kitchen uncut or somewhere else that Ramsey tried to talk calmly with the woman at first, but she wouldn't stop. In the end he lost his patience and, I don't remember what he said, but it wasn't the part that was shown in the show. Still though, the woman was out of line for flipping the plate. It would have been pretty funny if it was actually her food that she was flipping over.

I do have to admit the last one has always rubbed me the wrong way. I understand it’s a very very stressful situation for all the cooks but to treat a customer like that is just not right. All she wanted to know was how long her food would take. What she did in retaliation for his harsh and disrespectful comments was not right either. She waisted peoples food and all the hard work from the chefs to prepare it. So yah she should have been kicked out, though the way Ramsey was acting towards her really took the situation from a 3 to a full 10.
