Hello all! I am Bryan Ferriter, the director of the film and I played Heathcliff. Thanks for the positive comments and for those that liked this movie, I am grateful. This was a passion project made with very, very little money and filmed over a course of three years and was originally intended as a small release movie but we saw we were making something we wanted to get out there and after many years in post production, we got distribution. I definitely wish I could have done some things different and that I had the adequate budget for certain aspects of the movie, but I am beyond proud of the cast and crew and everyone who put their all into this. This was, and is an absolute labor of love and we did get to film some scenes at Ponden Hall and around Haworth, the birthplace of Emily Brontë. I am currently working on a complete dialogue re-edit and new sound mix so will keep people posted on the release of the remaster. It could be awhile but I am wanting to address certain sound issues. As far as how dark the film can be, we filmed 99 percent in complete natural light, (all candle light) a choice I partly made to disguise some of the period piece issues as we did not have a large budget, but also as an aesthetic choice to capture the time. I have also considered taking all references of time out of this to lean into a mythical aspect of it and so people can hopefully look pass any period inaccuracies as I know they exist in this rendition. Regardless, thanks for taking the time. I am grateful again for those that enjoyed the film. There was so much that went into making this film and all we ever wanted to do was honor Brontë’’s work. A sound remaster is coming on the horizon. I also have other films out there as well and an adaptation of Hamlet coming in the form of a mini series. Thank you all!

This was one of my favorite books as a youngster. I've seen just about every film version available and I have to say that yours is the one which helped me to understand the story completely. I had trouble as a young girl following Nellie's provincial Scottish accent. I feel your Nellie made things clear. I really liked your use of touches that seemed out of place like a Queen Ann house in the 1700s. And the date on Heathcliff's tombstone. Your use of this angle reminds me of Christina Ricci's Lizzie Borden (set in the 1800s) movie where the sound track is hard rock music. It gave it more of an edge than just the darkness of the story. Your usage of out of time moments was very effective. Like a stream of consciousness. I've just finished watching. Your post came just in time. Thank you for this wonderful version of a classic. You portrayed Heathcliff very convincingly it was superb. Well done!

Hello all again! The outpouring of kind words and positivity from everyone in these comments has given me great joy and encouragement and I am so grateful to all of you and that so many of you have enjoyed this film. It means the world to me and I am glad that many of you felt we honored Emily Brontë, as that was the main thing I wanted to do. We did film some scenes around Haworth, UK and I placed my hand on her birth home before we filmed some key scenes. I wanted to share that my current project “Hamlet” is going to have trailers and updates at Interwoven Studios KZbin page for anyone interested. The Interwoven page also has some early student films of mine plus two features as well. If you liked this, Hamlet may be up your alley and is going to be available as a six part episodic mini series and as a three part movie. It’s still going to be about two years until it’s done but there is a lot more on the horizon. The Interwoven page will also have the remastered sound version of Wuthering Heights when it is done which is a little while off as well. Wuthering Heights is also available to get on Amazon Prime for anyone who wants it. Again, I am so grateful for these positive comments and for all of you who enjoyed and took the time to watch the film. Stay posted for more. Peace! Thank you all again so much for supporting my work!

It's obviously a difficult and complicated story to translate into film, so I'll be keen to see how you went! Kind regards Jackie in Canberra, Australia.

I did watch trailers to the other versions, I certainly did not care for any of them...and in one of the other versions Heathcliff sounded a lot like Bane from Batman so i couldn't take that one seriously lol I only love this version and this one alone :)

The Heathcliff in this adaptation has a kinder more gentle disposition than most Heathcliffs ive seen. Tom Hardy as Heathcliff, had quite a menacing way about him even though he was soft spoken. I love seeing the variations in each adaptation. ❤

I'v read the book and watched the 1992, 2009, and 2012 movie adaptation. I really enjoyed this adaption. Heathcliff in this movie was my favorite. He was more gently spoken but no less menacing. The emotions were so well expressed on the actors face, the pain, hate, despair, love and emptiness' which for me gave a lot more depth (on screen) to Heathcliffs complex character that we see in the book. Excellent acting. I loved the music and that words were used straight from the book in placed were it really mattered. (the beauty in the book is the way Emily spoke of the characters feelings). Some modern movie adaptations of historical novels stay away from the language and plot of the books to make it more modern to suit our time and i think it is a mistake. The fact that the movie was low budget had no baring on the quality. WELL DONE.
@jamesmurphy1389Ай бұрын
Good comment, though you may need to check the spelling in your penultimate sentence, as there is no 'low bugger' in this, or indeed, any version of Wuthering Heights. 😎

As a Generation Jones member, I've seen several adaptations of this wonderful story. Yours blew me away. Holy insane love story- I forgot how 'dark' this tale was!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was so good! I had started to watch the movie with Tom Hardy- this one was even more intense! I had to remind myself of the period this takes place and that a woman's reputation was based on marital status and wealth. There's so much going on at the same time; Heathcliff is wicked {and incredibly good looking! ;) }! The acting was amazing- especially that of Heathcliff! This was strange- I was scrolling through youtube on Westerns and Time Period movies like Jane Eyre and I saw my novel - Wuthering Heights in my book collection but the novel is fairly old and the font is too small to read. Then in my feed, this movie popped up 😳- so strange but it was meant for me to watch and I'm glad I did! Thank you for this free movie on You Tube!

About 10 years ago I saw Kate Bushes Wuthering Heights and fell in love with her and the song. It had great meaning and through research I learned she was inspired to write it form the movie or novel, i forget which. But I didn't watch the movie until yesterday, and it was this version. I have to tell you, it has been a long time since I was so captivated be a movie I couldn't tear myself away. Though I am sure some of the other versions are fine, this one sticks to my heart. I could feel the pain, the love and hate coming from these actors with such dept of emotion. I saw trailers to several other versions and they just didn't feel right. I am going to buy this one from here, though I tried so hard to find a physical copy everywhere and couldn't. Should it ever become available I will certainly buy it :)

I prepared an essay of almost 7 pages of foolscap paper got down as many quotes and dialogues of both. Learnt them by heart and spewed it on my Answer sheet who cares what the question was,! Didn’t have much time for other 4 questions on 4 other novels but I managed to do full justice as I had prepared exactly 5 answers from 5 novels that was prescribed. Predictably got the Highest Marks in this paper! Wuthing Heights still has the Power to leave me shaken! Couple of days back I saw WH the oldest version! Loved the Lead Actors Sir Laurence Olivier and Meryle something but they didn’t seem to capture the passion of the novel! Hopefully this version should fill that void

They were horribly miscast in the 1992 version. I thought Binoche was dreadful as Catherine and the mullet wig didn't help matters. Fiennes had the fire but he doesn't have the swarthy gypsy look for the role. Too aristocratic and effeminate imo. Jsne Eyre starring Ruth Wilson was a more enjoyable story and production
