Great interview with great film propositions!!I once saw a part of Dino Risi's "Il Sorpasso" in Italian TV when l was studying the Medicine in Italy (10-15 years ago) but not the whole of it....I also have seen some Nicholas Ray films but not the one proposed here by Jim!! So l look forward to watch some of those movies proposed here!!I have to say that his last film "Paterson" is an absolute masterpiece & l put it on the same level (even if l am not a ranking/charts guy) with his '84-'05 consecutive masterpieces!!!

The end of Point Blank is NOT on Alcatraz, rather it is across the bay, at Fort Point, which is located under the Golden Gate Bridge and perhaps better known as the place where Jimmy Stewart fishes Kim Novak out of the bay in Vertigo!

Never heard of this guy, recently saw "Broken Flowers" by off chance. Found the film interestingly odd. Odd casting, unusual roles for each actor/actress involved. .(Tilda Swinton unrecognizable) Lots of satire and negativity. Ending without resolve and frustrating. This director messes with emotions and comfort zones. Take film set location. How hard would it be to find an urban neighborhood where Jeffrey Wright's basic $85,000 split level spec house full of kids is built next door to Bill Murray's $500,000 + custom built contemporary home. Odd how one guy who works 3 jobs would be so close to an aging wealthy play-boy bachelor who retired early. Odd orchestra' wind instrument Latin style music to play on his pussy-past hunting expedition/trip. My first impression of Jarmusch: Hardest interview since Peter O'Toole. Punk Rock hair style is the only firm commitment he's ever made. Uses psychotropic drugs to expand imagination. Handsome smart and sexy in a uniquely odd way. Nothing ordinary about him. Every one-night-stand he's had. Those people can honestly claim they got some STRANGE. Read he sometimes composes his own music and original score to support and accompany his films. I'll bet those compositions are written with chords in A-minor-flat Regarding hair he converted "if you got it flaunt it too if you got it, rat it.".
