Who will play Rosa depends on relationship values but the song is Aerith’s that’s was already confirmed by the singer (she said she will voice Aerith in the song) and the composer saying it was written for her. So maybe the song only appears in Aerith cutscene or she will sing even if someone else is chosen instead.

Cloud Remake Theme “This time I will never let you go” Aerith Rebirth Theme “Take my hand and never let me go” The Theme song presentation was a live performance with a trailer heavily focused on Aerith and Cloud romantic scenes. The singer Loren Allred confirmed she had to learn a lot about Aerith and cloud to find her connection to the characters. On the Official page of the Theme song the background Image is Aerith resting her head on Clouds shoulder. I mean... what else can you say?

Nobuo actually went into some depth about the song, which is exclusively for Aerith.. so she will be singing the song exclusively, no one else will be performing it. "In my mind, Aerith had an impression of being a bit thin and fragile, as expressed in the song "Aerith's Theme". I understood from the beginning that this song was also related to Aerith, however, the melody of the sad "Aerith's Theme" does not appear in the song. I wanted to express the opposite of this, the strength of her core hidden within Aerith's heart. As I listened to the recording over and over again after it was finished, Aerith, who until then had been a resident of a fantasy world, began to seem like a flesh-and-blood human being. Loren Allred's sometimes fragile, sometimes intense and powerful vocals must have breathed reality into Aerith's existence. It has been a long time since I have written a ballad song that is uniquely my own, and I am happy to have done so. Thank you, Aerith." So Hollow is from Cloud's perspective (Uematsu made sure to have this song fit Cloud's character) and No Promises to Keep is Aerith (as stated in his interview), they go hand in hand with each other and it's beautiful. 😢

I've just noticed something incredible about the full party pose image. It's the original individual art images of the characters from 1997 for artwork like the disc change pictures. Cait sith outside the gold saucer, megaphone in the air Cid laying chilled across tiny bronco Vincent squatting on a rock Yuffie with her shuriken Barrett with Marlene on his shoulder (minus Marlene obviously) Nanaki was on a rock looking at the moon I think from memory. Anyone else see it?

Right. After seeing the crossed out Avalanch members crossed out except Biggs on Wanted banner, most assume that they died. But cannot exclude possibility of only caught. Cloud and Aerith in Zack's timeline is still unconscious but not dead cuz Marlene confirmed that saying "When she wakes up ...". If only caught, would be Zack's quest to go save Avalanch from prison.

Someone pointed out in another reaction video that I absolutely loved was that the reason why almost all of Avalanche is dead in Zack's timeline is because Cloud never joins them because he's with Zack. If that's the case, then that would be really interesting and make a ton of sense why its different in this timeline. Also, I really hope that one day, Cody gets an award for his role as Cloud. He is amazing as the role. You get both the tortured soul, the confident jock and the lost puppy aspect of Cloud! And we get pieces of Zack through that too! GOSH! It's way too amazing for my mind!

One thing I noticed in the Aerith scene with her kneeling and praying: There are "Whispers" in the background swirling around. They're hard to see because of Sephiroth's feathers, but they're there. Makes you wonder why. But this whole trailer has me so hyped for Rebirth.

I don’t think Aerith will die, or at least not in the same circumstances. I think that image will appear at some point as she’s finally explaining “what the planet wanted to happen/what should have happened.” Either that or it’s just a clearer visual hallucination like what Cloud had going on in the first game. Like maybe as they closer to the city of Ancients Cloud’s visions get clearer and make him freak out about her possible impending death. Like, we know the whispers are gone, they’ve been destroyed and removed from the lifestream. No way they just come back just to kill Aerith.

@@spiraljumper74 The whispers are not gone, they were absorbed by Sephiroth and you literally see him using them at the end of the fight, before he and Cloud enter that mindscape place. On top of this they've been directly confirmed to return in Rebirth in interviews.

Just looking at this has given me a small mostly likely crazy idea... With Aerith being shown with both Zack and Cloud, but active in one but not the other.... Should what the last bit seemed to be showing, and they keep Zack and Cloud apart, Zack's Aerith may wake up after that point of the story. Trying to be vague for anyone who don't know the 1997 story. Like it would be a way to give or start a Party for Zack if he became playable at some point in Rebirth. Just an in the moment theory/ idea. Edit: Was posted as a in the moment thought at the end of the game trailer. So wasn't sure if anything was going to be spoiled at that moment in time. Also seeing Dion being kept is great as I thought he was going to be traded out with Biggs being alive. Also Biggs is alive with Zack, but out last sight of him for Cloud timeline is in a bed, so that could line up with my crazy in the moment thought.

I'm sure you must have seen that parody series, and the game devs are probably familiar with it too and may have taken inspiration from it. Which leads me to wonder if Tifa and Yuffie will become friends in Rebirth, and Cloud will also have a friendship with Cait Sith.

The whispers represent the will of the planet. You could look at it as a metaphor for “true OG7 fans” and all that noise if you want but it’s pretty clear to me that the whispers want OG events to happen because that way, they win in the end (OG7’s story ends with no humans, Midgar overgrown with plant life, nobody around but Red and his cubs). Now my understanding of what happened in remake, inside the singularity, the whispers were trying to subdue Sephiroth when he entered by forming the harbinger boss around him. Like a cage made of whispers. The party doesn’t understand the whispers so they think what they’re doing is stopping the ghosts, but the whole time Sephiroth is showing you visions of OG7 to motivate you to defeat the harbinger, which Red explains (“This is a glimpse of tomorrow if we fail here today”). Sephiroth is feeding you events that you think are bad so you’ll keep hacking away at the harbinger, so at the end we think we’ve freed ourselves from destiny, but what we’ve actually done is weakened the whispers enough that Sephiroth can escape his “cage” and absorb the whispers. In Rebirth, Sephiroth is in control of the whispers because of what we did to them in remake. Sephiroth doesn’t want OG7 events to happen the same way because he loses in the end. So now, who knows what the whispers are gonna do. Why would Sephiroth use the whispers to save Aerith? To keep her out of the lifestream? Maybe, but that still leaves him with the problem of Holy being activated. I have no clue what’s gonna happen and I’m so excited to see where they take this. Only a couple months left😁

The year is 2000, the place is a small house in rural Kansas. Jennifer is in the kitchen, preparing a snack of carrot sticks and hummus for her young son. Suddenly, a wail of pure agony pierces her ears, it’s coming from the basement. Jennifer drops the plate in shock and it falls to the floor and shutters, her feet scattering the pieces as she bolts out of the kitchen and down the stairs. She arrives to find her eight year old son huddled on the couch in front of the tv, sobbing. On the television a red blobby monster menaces a row of polygonal warriors. “What’s wrong!? Are you hurt?” A tearstained face peers up, “she’s dead Mom! He killed her!” A young Spiral had just watched his first crush die by being stabbed through the stomach with a long-ass katana. I’m probably gonna fucking lose it if Aerith dies again. I hope she doesn’t, I’m a sucker for happy endings, the original will always exist. I want something else, I want to see these characters triumph over fate. Maybe that’s why I enjoyed the ending of Remake so much?

It's very likely that she'll die, but in Zacks timeline she'll live. My theory is the new Zack storyline is setting up a "Happy" ending for Aerith and Zack since in the original they both got kinda screwed

I caught that Tifa sound too! I don’t understand what she means by Cloud saving her since Zangan actually saved her in Nibelheim. She saved Cloud a few times in CC and Remake. I’m still spooked that there are two Clouds in one timeline. Maybe one Cloud is shapeshifter Jenova? Like the one Zack is hauling around comatose the whole time? I predict that Zack is given a second chance from Angeal. There is his symbolic feather floating down in the first trailer. “The world will be saved, but will you?” And Zack is shown. I predict that Zack will save Aerith and sacrifice himself in the last game. Angeal asked Zack what his dream was and Zack’s dream is to become a hero. It would be interesting to see what unfolds after… perhaps putting a final end to the ship wars. Cloud rides a Chocobo to fetch Aerith some pickled ice cream and satisfy her midnight cravings😂

So glad we get Vincent finally, but sucks he is unplayable in this game. For those who forgot, the trailer before this one teased the possibility of the characters on “the poster” as dead, including Aerith and Red XIII. Clearly, Aerith isn’t dead, but unconscious. Possible it’s the same for the others in Zach’s timeline…who knows. This gives me Nexus being vibes…Aerith can simultaneously exist in both, but can’t be active. The end of Advent Children teases that BOTH Aerith and Zach may have that ability…not sure, but her sense of knowing all before it happened in the first game really shines a light on that. I love living in this world again…and that “scene” is going to gut me this time.

You pointed out "Jesse's" hair color at 30:25 and I think the bottom half is much more of a red/pink color to represent the headband she always wore (since wearing a militia headband in a stage play like this wouldn't make sense) so it seems like a really cool subtle way of identifying her. Alternatively -- if Cloud is watching and is having more of a hallucinations/ illusion of Jesse, it could be his way of transposing her likeness onto one of the dancers if its not actually her.

Sephiroth absorbed the whispers after we defeated them... all part of his plan it seems.. so no matter what we do (as shown when barret died in remake) Sephiroth can call the power of the whispers and make it happen anyway.... Sidenote. I think they literally spoiled the very final scene. At the end of the game we beat Jenova (or whoever the final boss may be) get to Aerith, she looks up, fade to black, 7 seconds... roll credits.

Great video and analysis. I can definitely see how it’s Aeriths view on Cloud. It I also see the symbolism with Zack too on the line “will you find me” since we know he’s been looking for her and he never gets to fulfil his promise to her to see the sky. So there’s definitely foreshadowing at both her relationships with both Cloud and Zack and it’s gonna be heartbreaking ugh lol

Calling it now. The purpose of the new Zack Storyline is to set up a "happy" ending for Aerith and Zack since neither got it in OG. I believe 99% that Aerith will die again, yet live in Zacks Timeline and they will have an adventure of their own to stop Sephiroth. In the original concept of OG FF7 Zack was actually the lead btw.
