Considering the voice he was listening to in the end, I'm thinking he's more akin to Dvalin (more a companion to the archon) than to someone like Apep (an actual threat to the world, should she choose that route). Both dragons, but Dvalin is not a sovereign.

One thing that makes me upset with some people in the community is that they just look at this as a game and forget it's a work of art. There's so much professional, artistic skill put into the whole game, from the trailers and music to the character designs and the lore. It's all highly artistic. I just wish more people took the time to observe and appreciate that. As for your accuracy, I think you got it, especially when you said that Neuvillette has to be impartial to his judgments. That is exactly what the creators have said so good job on getting that!

THANK YOU, finally someone who gets it. It's okay to point out the many flaws of this game but when it gets to the point where people just disregard all the artistic good, it gets annoying. People seriously have such an unnecessarily large hate boner for this game and they're so vocal about it too, some CCs have cultivated a community purely just to hate on this game for the wrong reasons. This is why I stick to people like Zelpa, MurderofBirds, Unrealdreamer, Ashikai and IslandXP because even if they acknowledge the flaws of Genshin, they still appreciate all it's art. Is Genshin perfect? Far from it but is it doing so many things right? Damn straight, from the music to the scenery, from the world building to the lore, Genshin creates a fantasy world that truly feels like a fantasy.

The underwater area of fontaine is incredible tbh, no oxygen limiter down there. And its quite vast too, with caves and underground areas and such. I found it very calming and peaceful while exploring it.

5:25 The lady you see standing on the right behind Neuvillette in the artwork is actually the Archon. All Archons after Liyue are confirmed to be female via the Travail trailer. There have been strong hints that Neuvillette is the dragon of water reincarnated into a human form though so I'll be interesting to see what becomes of that in 4.1 now that we're getting his lore and story quest.

To me, Neuvillette feels like the protagonist in this trailer lol ''is he the Archon'' no but you wouldn't be the first one to think so. It was also confirmed in the special program that Neuvillette doesn't really form close relationships with others, so you were right with that. The shot of Wriothesley you liked so much at 7:30 is actually his burst animation, so gonna be seeing that one a lot The character with X eyes is Arlecchino. Not sure if her eyes have any special power or so, but if I remember correctly MarcoMeatball said the original character of Arlecchino has a mask (?) with X for eyes or something along those lines. I think he called it like a shout-out to Commedia dell'arte.

I mean the archon is never really the mc of the archon quest so they rarely get that much spotlight and tend to be hidden until near the end (or at least they will only reveal their true nature/power only near the end)

For Liyue and Inazuma it was the region's people who were the MCs, and that seems to be the case for Fontaine as well.

@@NijiKonohanaNahida was trapped for a significant portion of the Sumeru archon quest though. She become quite a main character after she was freed, and generally shows up a lot more than other archons. But Furina has shown up in her first two acts a lot more than Nahida in her first two acts.

@@KayKayBayForever i think its the same on the two of them with the first 2 acts. we literally talked a lot with Nahida in the whole ride of 4.0 archon quest, tho travellers didnt know they were the archon at that time. Furina showed up 3 times in the first 2 acts. First appearance is a little short, 2nd got the longest interaction, and the third meeting is the least interaction we have. Also, Nahida is locked up but we interacted with her in the whole 2nd act (also was able to ask her questions)

@@KayKayBayForever Ehhh I don't think screen time defines who is a main character. It's more about who drives the main plot forward. Nahida being trapped does not deny the fact that she was the main force moving the plot of the Sumeru AQs. Everything from Act 1 to Act 5 were the result of Nahida's influence: from the people preparing her birthday celebration to her helping the Traveler in the Samsara, from her helping the Village Keepers in the desert to finally resolving the conflict of the story. Of course, the Traveler is the true MC, but Nahida was definitely the protagonist of Sumeru.

I think the things that interest me most in this trailer, with the way they've set it up, are 1. Obviously, the shot of Neuvillette blocking something (most likely water from the Primordial Sea), especially since the editing gives me this vibe that this will be a big moment for him as a person. The shots of him in the desaturated environments give me a feeling of him looking back on the past, since the scenes we've had of him explaining what the trial revealed about how a crime happened have him walking in a desaturated environment. 2. The line "You know those pipes that make strange sounds? Don't ever, ever go near them at night." It's so ominous, and of course, it indicates that there's something bad in the pipes. But why only avoid them at night? Why are they not dangerous during the day? Or is it because most people are sleeping at night, so if something happens to you, you're less likely to be saved?

Perspectives are interesting things. The way I saw that scene is that Neuvillette will be the one that's going to cast judgement and try to drown Fontaine 💀 But I like your theory too, perhaps he would have the power to stop the catastrophe

I was thinking that those scenes where everything around Neuvillette was white and black were trying to depict the contrast between Neuvillette and humans. He's not a god, but also not a mortal, and he doesn't know where he stands. He can't understand and name the emotions he's feeling because he is not human enough, and that's why everything around him appears to be so dull and gloomy. I already think his story and writing is so beautiful and complex, and he hasn't even come out yet. I really like the way you think of it though.

Neuvillette is sadly not the archon, the girl (mentioned as Focalors by Arlecchino- white haired girl in the 4.1 picture) with blues and heterochromatic eyes is. She's quite mysterious, and I can't wait to find out her lore. Super excited for 4.1!

@@plasmapanther4444 Imo, now that’s she’s free, Nahida is by far the strongest archon as long as she manages to avoid a direct confrontation with someone like Ei or Zhongli, because she can delete them from Irminsul if she really wanted to. So as long as she’s able to escape to Irminsul (where no other archon can follow) then she can do whatever she wants and the other archons would be powerless to stop her. However, if some of the stronger archons were to confront her directly then they’d be able to one-tap her easily, and she’s not the type of person to use Irminsul in that way anyways.

Nahida in terms of power is intellectually strong,but not that emotionally strong If going by the idea presented to us that archons power is related to the number of people who believe in them then nahida's power has grown since the end of the sumeru archon quest

@@-Theo-She can’t delete anyone from Irminsul for one simple fact. It was literally proven in Wanderer’s story quest that it is impossible to delete information from Irminsul so willy willy. Not to mention the voice at the end which says and I quote: “Unfortunately, the fate of Teyvat cannot easily be changed. Perhaps a god may have a slim chance, but for anyone else.. who can say.” Not to mention that the Dendro archon is the Avatar of Irminsul, but Irminsul itself is a different entity. Irminsul, which could be regarded as the world tree, basically records each and everything that has to do with Teyvat, but the Dendro archon cannot control it or just use it as she pleases. All that Nahida can do is go into Irminsul and seek knowledge, but there is little else she can do. One of the Dendro archon’s jobs is to protect Irminsul after all. Now, Nahida is the purest branch of Irminsul, so she’s technically connected to it. Imo, when it comes to altering information from Irminsul, she’s basically also changing a part of her own consciousness or memory, but being the gentle god that she is, Nahida would never do something (like *trying* to erase the existence of a god) that would create another problem for Teyvat. I get that you are enthusiastic (or at least look like it), but please try to read the lore and/or pay more attention to the story before trying to make statements as these, because this might as well be misinformation. I’m not trying to be mean, but I just felt the need to type this.

Arlecchino is interesting, we started to get info about her back in 2.X but Fontaine is where the in-game units actually know her. She's also a child of the House of Hearth and killed the former director of the House before becoming the Knave/Arlecchino as a Harbinger. She too is a child soldier who has taken over running the House of Hearth and although not changing the nature of the House (creating Fatui agents and spies) she asks that her 'children' take better care of themselves during missions and too evaluate their self-worth and pride. Arlecchino is also referred to as "Father" when talking about her and the House of Heart by the orphans.

Arlechino's crossed out eyes is a reference to the arlechino in the opera "comedia del arte" who's mask has very small eyes in the opera so hoyo gave arlechino crossed out eyes in genshin (Theres no confirmation lorewise why she has crossed out eyes,we only now about the vomedia del arte thing)

The character whose name you forgot is Arlecchino, "the Knave", one of the Fatui Harbingers (presumed no.10). There's no information yet about her eyes. She's a complex character - deeply evil in some ways (she runs a child-soldier 'orphanage') but also apparently motivated to save Fontaine.

When I had originally watched this trailer, I thought it was something straight out of a movie, especially in the first half with the Fortress of Meropide (the prison the Traveler goes to). Funnily enough, I've been theorizing that the upcoming plot for Fontaine (i.e for Acts 3 & 4) will have something akin to Escape Plan, a prison film starring Sylvestor Stallone and Arnold Schwartznegger where both try to escape from an impossible/Supermax prison. Also, both use fake identities (Portos & Rotthmayer respectfully) while at the prison, one of which has false charges that were put on in an attempt to get into the prison. Sound familiar?

Neuvillette isn't archon but heavily implied he's a being that puts the Hydro Archon to shame. Which sucks since if canonically he *is* stronger than Furina, his playable character kit should make him more valuable than her but since she's archon, they'll put a cracked kit on a character that's subpar in the story.
