The intensity just ramps up from here and the character arcs and acting somehow will continue to increase in quality not just there but for the rest of the series. So excited that once you get through this you have Better Call Saul to experience too.

I love how this series shows when things are difficult, Skylar is willing to sacrifice her pride and personal image to get them out of the situation. Contrasted with Walt, whose pride is constantly making things worse.

Kind of reminds me of character Anna Gunn played in an episode of Law & Order season 20 who dressed kinda tacky and had outburst. One when she stabbed one of her husband's killers during a sting operation and later in court when she grabbed the judge's gavel xD

22:46 about those minuscule things, I believe the popular film critic who goes by the name Film Crit Hulk commented on exactly those parts of the show. He said that current popular shows took all the wrong lessons from Breaking Bad. Breaking Bad would make an entire episode's worth of drama out of circumstances that lesser shows would completely overlook or spend only a couple of non-dramatic seconds on. The micro-level dramas on this show is so well-integrated with the bigger picture.l

Gus is always putting on some sort of an act. When Walter came over, he had family pictures and toys around, to make him look like a fellow family man. When Jesse comes over, all those things are gone, and they are just two bachelors hanging out. Crazy how between being an absolutely menacing boss, and a friendly fast food chain owner, Gus also has time to micro manage his performances to suit whoever he is talking to. As for Walter, you just have to love the manipulative tactics he uses. When he needs something from Jesse, he strikes a pleasant but awkward conversation, and tries to vibe with him. But when Jesse needs help, Walt straight up tells him that he will F*ck up, and that he hopes Jesse gets killed. It's all about Walt. Sure. All he cares about is his own death warrant, not the one Jesse might be getting. And sure Jesse didn't kill Gus, but Gus and Walt aren't exactly on the worst of terms right now. Up to this point, the threat on Walt's life, that he keeps talking about, has only been something he brings up all the time. I don't think that since the Victor incident, Gus has directly stated that he wants to kill Walt. Even here, he asks Jesse if he can cook, because there is something else in play at the moment.

It's funny, the show Ice Road Truckers was essentially a competing shoe in the same time slot on Sunday nights. This was clearly a jab at ice road truckers. Of course later on, no one gets the reference. 😅😅😅

I love the attention to detail on the sniper fire. After a good few hundred yards or so, you'll begin to notice a delay between the impact of the bullet and the report of the weapon firing. And a full second or so is probably over 1,000 yards. The only other times I remember seeing that on screen was Saving Private Ryan and The Way of The Gun.

If you want one of the most unique cinema experiences of all time, yet severely underappreciated and unknown film, yet one of the most successful movies of all time, One Cut of the Dead. The only problem in recommending this to anyone is the fact that it can be so easily spoiled. Best to go in completely cold, no trailers, no synopsis, no reviews, no nothing.
