I also felt the same way when Grandpa Montelli glanced at Carlotta during the funeral scene. "You know what to do." She predicts how the entire thing will play out. She could have killed Fasciaspina in the bedroom, but instead put the fear of god into him, then left him alive AND told him where to find her. And also that she'll see him there. She *knows* that she painted a target on her back and Fasciaspina takes the bait. Knowing what Carlotta is capable of, he sends an army after her, which she effortlessly dismantles in a dazzling spectacle. She dodges bullets while artpieces are destroyed (including the one she paid for lol), capping off the entire assault with killing him in cold blood while he's begging for his life. She does this all in a completely public place, showing off how untouchable the Montelli family is. It's a display of power. The Montellis don't fear repercussions from authorities, and other families after witnessing this should dare not cross them. Ever. One thing I adore is that she has very slow and floaty movements when dodging attacks. It's almost like she's animated with more frames/higher framerate than her attackers. They're desperately attacking her and she's gracefully flowing and weaving between them while taking them out.

I like Faciaspina's last question to Carlotta before being shot and her reaction to it. He implies that she is being used to kill the Montelli Family's enemies like a tool, and it hurt her pride a little bit.

I commented separately where for the most part this is true, especially to the whole mafia theme. However the undertone of the choices and cinematography makes this not simply mafia dealing with issues, but as a personal vendetta of Carlotta. If she was simply a hitwoman, she would've just executed him in his room there and then. If it was a display of power, Montelli absorbing the Fasciaspina estate into itself through political means would convey the same message (as executing him would just leave the fragments to scatter, rather than locked under a new ownership). This was not an interfamily affair, or move to solidify political power, but rather a promise made by a lady in resplendent red.

One little detail that many have missed is that during the bidding scene when Carlotta offers her bid, Fasciaspina (or the dude in the bedroom) actually tried to outbid her. And to me it seemed like Carlotta has been testing him since earlier, from the bedroom telling him to visit Ettore's tomb, the auction indicating that Fasciaspina shouldn't bite more than he could chew, and finally in the finale with him begging for his life. Yet instead of yielding in, he just continues dig his grave deeper by offering properties and luxury to someone who can literally outbid him and then proceeding to humiliate her by saying she's just someone's gun. As she said herself, the Montelli's are generous to their friends but ruthless to their traitors. p.s. Something I just noticed is that after she outbids him, other bidders in the auction actually tried looking for the one who tried to outbid her, like they're appalled that someone's trying to challenge her.

There's a neat detail i haven't seen anyone talking about, but the viewers cannot see in your video, since your camera is blocking it. BUT at 3:59, there's a badge next to the gramophone, that belongs to that guy (who ends up dead) is seen again at 9:35, on the gravestone. She brought the proof of revenge to her dead familiar. It's a really neat and small detail that show's the revenge is complete. Also im not sure if anyone commented already but this showcase has so many movie references, which is insane... Godfather, Matrix, 300 and many others. Kuro Games cooked so hard in here.

i never even realized the way they portrayed her, by having her be the unapologetic subject in nearly every shot she's in, i think its very fitting for her 'selfish' personality also: the goons i'm pretty sure are clones, maybe created by an echo? (magic monster) which is why kinda they mindlessly fling themselves off ledges, and why they all look the same

i think they imitate the recoil by moving the camera backward, make it look like the gun is getting shorten.

Carlotta and the new region Rinacita are coming in 2 days, its italian inspired in its culture. What is known about Carlotta's abilities is that she uses Gems as her medium and now apperently can also manipulate Glass. This trailer is the first one where they just go full cinema on a character and not cut it in a story part and combat showcase wich is really nice and i hope Kuro keeps doing this. And yes, her english VA is Jennifer English, who voiced Shadowheart in BG3.

It’s like Carlotta just casually orchestrated pure brilliance without even trying. The whole sequence with the sword cutting the bell rope was pure cinema. The bell drops, Carlotta swings up like it’s nothing, and then the crash when the bell hits 🤩 I really liked how the weapon sounds were muted to let the lady’s voice shine. The only sounds you hear are the shattering glass and gunshots, which is a great way to emphasize Carlotta’s link to glass, crystals, and gems, as well as her role as a gunner. Her look at us was unforgettable-graceful, elegant, but with a deadly edge. Insane how she handled a literal 1v100 like a queen, walking away untouched xD Then she left that guy for last, and the way the gunshot cut out left it open-ended, making us question whether he was actually hit. The ambiguity added an interesting layer to the scene. The slower, deliberate pacing and muted action sounds made the moments stand out even more, giving space for the singer’s voice and the instruments to shine. It’s not your typical hack-and-slash chaos, and I like it personally ❤️

Three things I loved 07:14 How she knows exactly when she has outbid everyone and the auction is over implying she knows the finances and incentives of everyone there. 07:33 She's tracking a horizontally travelling bullet with her eyes, which implies her opponents should give up. And 09:28 that her name is revealed with a gunshot and assassination. Powerful reveal and storytelling.

What i noticed and like is how when the camera is far from the character that's talking it echoes like how you would hear anyone from far away

I would say the contrast with the gravestone scenes speaks off a soul at rest, rather than one of mourning. Carlotta in the beginning can seem to be mourning, but I feel the main emotion is restlessness, revenge, perhaps regret? with the final scene there is calmness, a blood debt paid, perhaps hint of forgiveness. This ties from the scene before where she was visibly offended by the statement that she would be acting on the behalf of someone else. This revenge was personal mission of Carlotta Montelli, rather than "business". It's not just letting the dead rest, but as well as closure for who I presume is the one who remains.

One thing I want to mention now after playing the story, is a sort of symbol or theme with the Montelli Family (which Carlotta is a part of) is shattered glass. Stained glass specifically, but shattered glass in particular. Carlotta's color design in reminiscent of stained glass, the two significant tone shifts in the video are punctuated by glass shattering (when the case is shot and when Carlotta lands on the car and shatters all the windows), which leads into it the sequence making it look like she's forming her guns from shards of glass.

Even though I liked it, the continuity errors in these animations are horrendous, you can see when Carlotta is falling that there is no car down there, the same goes for the story cinematic. The camera is on top of Brant's boat, you can clearly see from afar that he's not up there, but in the next frame he's there. In the cutscene of the second stage of Dreamless, they show the entire field, and there is neither Rover nor Jiyan in sight, they simply disappeared from the place. 3:54 In this scene you can see that she goes to the right of the man whose name I don't know, but in the next scene she goes to the door on the left.

It's just Simple. The car is not that big, it's just below her so we can't see it when she's falling lol. And about brant on the boat he's way too small to be seen in birds view the only thing you can see is the Flag since it's a bit higher than brant lol. And about the dreamless they did that on purpose to add the cinematic effect and the dreamless is flying to High above so ou we can't see rover and jiyan below her since human are small like ant if being viewed above and dreamless is huge lol. About carlotta when she's walking infront of him of course there is a window beside her the room is bright and the window light is reflected in any corner so when she's passing by the guy it causes some shadow since the guy is below her and there way too Close.. thats it.

@darkn9250 The car isn't small enough, just pay attention, even if it's small, the place where the car should be is empty, you can clearly see that. This has nothing to do with it, from afar you can see that Brant is not there in the previous frame, there's no flag in their navigation. They are not, literally the Dreamless zone was empty except from her, just look at the KZbin videos, Even if Jiyan and Rover were small you could see it, which is not the case.
