Most of these WuWa/Hoyo type gachas have events that are locked to having certain story progression and/or areas unlocked. So yeah, allowing the new and potential returning players that bailed for a while that haven't cleared main quests unlock said areas right away is a good idea. I for example remember that when I started playing Star Rail I missed out on the event that was on at the time cause it required you to have finished the Luofu main quest.

36:26 no you are not able to use the part 1 characters in any part 2 content for hi3, they’ve all been shafted, and 90% of them aren’t viable anymore regardless. Only thing you can still use part 1 characters in is endgame and even that it’s pretty much cope bc endgame is pvp and you only maintain high rewards by dominating the leaderboard aka pulling new units. They did make some weapons that bring some older units somewhat back into meta but otherwise old units aren’t usable at all

They can't afford to be in their own bubble anymore, nor can they half ass it like what they did to the Natlan stuff. they may be the first one to be the successful in its genre, but if they don't do anything substantial, they're gonna be left in the dust by other games like it.

Genshin is just made with a different style. These games may have the same genre but they are built with totally different ideas with WuWa being faster paced while genshin is built to be slower as an example.(these range from gameplay to map design etc.) There are people who prefer faster ones and other prefer slower styles. (hell theirs going to be people who play both style of games for variety) Saying genshin is gonna be left in the dust is just naive tbh. They have their core audience that prefer their style and that audience is beyond huge too. (also when it comes to WuWa at least, they need to up their over all revenue specially in the biggest cn mobile market to hit hoyo's radar as a competitor that would warrant changes.)
