the theory about this MV is about Sewol Ferry incident, but the song itself is about Korean traditional fairy tales, it's a story of lovers Jiknyeo and Gyeonwu, who were separated by the heavenly king and only allowed to meet on the seventh day of the seventh month of the lunar calendar (that's why the title is 7월7일) I always love your video especially if you're reacting to red velvet and snsd ☺️

Yup the song itself is Korean folk tale, but it can also relate to the Sewol Ferry tragedy of the family missing the loved ones who died..who was mostly high school students.

This MV is really meaningful as there’s theories of having symbolism linked to the Sewol ferry tragedy years ago. The victims of then were around Yeri’s age (she’s the youngest member, ~18 y/o) which is why some say that on the album cover, she was the only one blurred out. In the MV, there was that part where she was on a boat and it was raining, possibly related to the victims that drowned in the tragedy. Again, it’s theories but we can’t deny how the song matches the feelings and the images captured here.

I remember watching the MV and think wow and i search the explain MV theory where I saw it could be a tribute of the Sewol ferry accident and then I saw the documentary about about it, and I cant help it to cry everytime i heard this song

Its about the sewol tradegy obviously (many student died) but SM or Red Velvet never claim it because it might cause controversy instead they claim it was a love story. They represent characters in the MV. Represent students who are trap inside Irene (5:53) when water was going inside Wendy (4:56) trying to hide under the table Yeri - the one who is trap in the boat in the water Seulgi (2:57) - she was out in the balcony but no where to go so she dicided to go back inside then trap? Joy-The only survivor (4:01) the other are gone in her back and (5:34) she was the only not wearing a white hood while other starting (4:27) are wearing white with hood.

i think this is about the Sewol tragedy (a ship tragedy(?)) which kill alot of students, that's why the lyrics is sad. that explains why there's boat and water

Actually One of these nights was released after Dumb Dumb. At that time it was not common (I think it is not common yet) that girl groups will release ballads as a title tracks, they were prepared even for the worst but they even won awards. I think Rookie is one of their weirdest videos but I recommend...but really, prepare for their weirdness... Zimzalabim, Russian Roulette, RBB, Red Flavour...

The interior design is meant to invoke the simple efficient corridors inside a passenger ship, round portholes, etc. The corridor of doors is where staterooms would be. The "Lego boat" was also slowly filling with water as the MV progressed.
