Pass the popcorn! I'm surprised you had not come across this Home Free original! It was written by Chance (who leads the vocals throughout) after Ubisoft heard their lockdown "Sea Shanty Medley" and invited him to write for their game "Skull and Bones." The lyric version was released some time ago, and now Home Free is putting out their official video. The storyline reflects aspects of the actual gameplay, and obviously borrows some of the cgi. That double-bass simply rumbles your speakers! We often forget that Chance is a bass/baritone and can almost match Tim in that basement.

If the popcorn has caramel seasoning on it, you can forget it! 😂 But in all seriousness, I agree that everything Home Free put into this video was just fantastic.

The shots of just ship in full view is not stock footage but from the video game itself.

Chance wrote this for new Ubisoft game "Skull and Bones." What an honor that is, and I really hope it gets them even more exposure. Loved your reaction!

I also hope they land more business for this video :) I'm glad you enjoyed the reaction!

This isn't a music video - it's a mini-movie with great acting, singing, harmonies, Adam's crazy beatboxing & a good story! (Stories being something most movies now lack). Chance has always been fond of sea shanties so when Ubisoft called HF to get a song for their new game - it was a no-brainer that Chance would write it.

When Home Free did the sea shanty medley during Covid it went viral and attracted Ubisoft the game maker to them. They asked Chance (first singer) to write a new shanty for their new game Skull and Bones and this is it. He wrote a banger. The guys are singing “Skull and Bones” most of the time in the background. Tim goes insanely low in this. There’s a short live video for the Ubisoft crowd that’s great. So there’s a little bit of the game in this. If you want to see more of the game there’s a lyric video which shows a lot of the game. Love this song!!! 😍😄

Thanks Jeffrey! I think they did an awesome short film here for this, with some game footage of pirate ships Ubisoft’s game coming out with the same name! They had asked Home Free to write a song and this was written by Chance!! And this video is an awesome production!❤❤ Thanks for reacting, I thought you might like it!!👏👏

This was a very well created production! One of their more cinematic pieces of work for sure. I'm glad you enjoyed the video :)

Ubisoft came to Home Free to write a song for their upcoming game Skull and Bones and Chance wrote it and leads the song. They also played instruments in this song. Chance playing guitar and Austin played mandolin, Adam still beatboxed. Something a little different that shows their versitility and creativeness too. Plus from what I've heard the Skull and Bones game has now been released. Home Free's song is in it of course.

When Home Free released their "Sea Shanty Medley" during the lock down and it went viral, the game company Ubisoft saw it and was so impressed by them that they reached out to Home Free and asked if they would be interested in creating an original song for their game (which was in development) Skull and Bones. Of course they jumped on that and their one and only sea shanty enthusiast, Adam Chance stepped up and wrote this master piece. Ubisoft introduced them and their song at the Summer Game Fest 2023, along with the lyric video which is what we had until now. This video incorporates elements of the game into the story depicted in the video. Well worth the wait, love it. What an epic original sea shanty by Chance and Home Free. You can tell Ubisoft contributed a lot to this video. In the credits the female pirate is referred to as Marianne and is played by Clair Glassford. The young Marianne is played by Kate Kilclough. Looking forward to what they have next for us.

Thank you very much for that breakdown :) Right?! That would be awesome to see another cool project like this. Perhaps expanding the themes too.

No, they're not saying "one by one." That's Adam saying "skull and bones." You can see that on their original video where they debuted the song on stage for what I guess are Ubisoft execs and patrons.

Chance wrote this one and I am so glad he took lead. Love his voice especially when he gets to use his low tones. This is so much fun and will become another great sea shanty. My son plays the game and likes it and the song too.

I just love this video and the song. Huge kudo's to Chance, the writer, and Home Free, the performers. It is so amazing that they can take a 3 minute song and tell a whole life's story. They don't need a 2 hour production. Even the cinematography is very well layed out and choreographed. This was STELLAR !!!
@Phillylullaby7711 ай бұрын
You did hear something at 3:42 / 8:57. It's hard to catch, but in the lyric video you'll see they flash the words " SKULL AND BONES" in yellow letters. I didn't notice at first, but Adam (? and maybe another voice) "whisper shout" that phrase several times while the chorus is singing starting midway in the song. You have such an eye for details. Nice to have a filmmaker help us appreciate this video.

Finally the deserved video for this awesome song. Of course the video of the game and the live performance was great too, but this video is beyond amazing. Phenomenal how it looks. The Home Free guys as the perfect pirates. Especially Chance. If it were up to me, they could make a whole movie. In any case, I will watch it with 5 of those handsome, cool pirates.❤🏴☠️🥰

The pirate boat on the sea and most of the scenery are graphics from the new Ubisoft game, Skull and Bones. Ubisoft asked Home Free to write a song for the game after their Sea Shanty Medley went viral. Chance is the pirate guy,so he wrote it. The Sea Shanty Medley was his brainchild also. Thanks!

I am rather surprised you don't seem to be aware of the upcoming Skull and Bones game by Ubisoft that Chance was commissioned to write this theme music for. I don't think many Home Fries have not been talking about this phenomenon for Home Free.

Wasn't that great! We've been waiting for this official video by Home Free for awhile now. It felt like I was watching a movie. Home free is so talented & they can do any genre of music. Chance loves sea shanties & he wrote this song for the game "Skull & Bones". His deeper voice sounded great for this song. And of course all the background harmonies of the guys including Adam's fabulous vocal percussion.
