I LOVE your videos and intend to spend a lot of time on here going through them while I wait for my G2 to arrive. One thing I have to ask you is where on earth did you get that flat ribbon-type USB-c to USB-c cable, it is a great compromise to getting around BM's stupid decision not to allow for a cable to go through the body instead of having to leave the side screen open! How do these things ever happen?!

It's this one: www.amazon.com/dp/B07PRLJKJP/ref=dp_cerb_1 Also Tilta sells a similar cable. The USB-C port was there since the G1 for updating purposes. They added the recording functionality later after changing the USB controller internally which it was something very simply to do. It would take a redesign of the body and the PCB to have the USB-C port directed somewhere else.

@@areiacreations thanks very much for that. Interesting information on the port too, but as a G2 buyer their original purpose is irrelevant to me, I need it to function for it's new purpose. I may even investigate putting my own hole or slot in, wish me well! 😎

Speaking just on IQ, at an equivalent resolution do you see image quality differences between this camera and something like the Pocket 4K/6K? Or do you use the URSA primarily due to workflow reasons (built in NDs etc)? Also, can you recommend a new model lens that is similar to the Zeiss Contax you love so much? Basically your runner-up pick with a similar look?

Hey Jun :) Glad to see you’re enjoying and are enthusiastic about moviemaking! While I strongly support you in pursuing something you’re passionate about, I have to admit that I miss the volume of remixes being released in the past. It’s just my selfish opinion but I’ve always really enjoyed your remixes! I understand it might be a bit difficult to find time for everything, so it’s totally understandable :) whatever path you choose for your channel, I’ll be here checking it out. Best regards, Kiha :)

Hello Kiha and thank you for your reply. You are giving me the chance to explain in detail, not just for you but for many others that might feel the same. You have to understand that Kpop remixing is an "amateurish" hobby started in my student years that leads nowhere professionally or financially. The reality is, I'm not a student in my 20s anymore - everybody that was doing Kpop remixes when I started back in 2009 has retired long ago doing something more important in their life. "Remixing" in the eyes of Korean entertainment companies is something often ridiculed and appears as a waste of somebody's time. I've learnt the hard way to exclude it from conversations when I'm talking with companies about working with them on original productions, as it sounds unprofessional. That said, I've been doing it for 10 years and I don't intend to stop any time soon. I'm very appreciative to every single kpop fan that has gathered in this channel during all these years. The amount of remixes are not really any lower or lacking of quality - I still release 3~5 remixes using the best of my abilities every month, in a steady pace, which is more than the average of what I've been releasing throughout the past 10 years. Artist Development and Production including Filmmaking on the other hand is my profession. It's the reason I am in Korea right now and my true passion. From far away, it might seem like not a big deal, but there is an enormous difference from simply making a remix for some Kpop song and actually producing original artists, working with them closely, shaping their original songs and most importantly designing, directing and filming their music videos, embedding my creativity and style in their original product. That's not just from the financial perspective but also from life-goal and career perspective. It has been a very long journey since I came to Korea 10 years ago. It's very hard to explain it online and impossible to update every single subscriber of this channel but the achievements on original Kpop content throughout these years, from those first original Anda songs in 2012, to starting my own company, developing and producing original artists, directing and filming music videos for increasingly bigger projects and so on, are million times greater (in skill, complexity, scope, meaning) than remixing some Kpop song. I wish followers of this channel could understand that and follow my journey on actually shaping original Kpop as I work with Kpop companies and artists, instead of caring so much about the (quite meaningless) remixes, but I understand the importance to them so I've been keeping up and releasing a fair amount every month. Again, I'm grateful for the support but I hope someday as I'm working more and more in larger scope productions and bigger names, fans of this channel, will start seeing all my efforts behind the scenes and support me for them. I understand some of the more technical videos will not be of interest to the Kpop fans of this channel but there is a point that the two collide when I'm talking more specifically about producing original Kpop songs and music videos. Hopefully at some point they will also stop calling me "a DJ" or "a remixer" - a very demeaning term compared to what I'm doing here and who I am. But as they say, respect can't be demanded, only earned. So all I can do is to release honest content I am passionate about and let people judge me about that.
