Very cool! The only thing is that the sound of the explosion at such a distance should be delayed. I think it would further enhance the feeling of impending disaster. Thanks for the tutorial!

Normally I'd agree, but we weren't going for realism with this one, we were going for that over the top Hollywood Michael Bay vibe.

One small additional observation: it is not entirely unlikely that the shockwave would arrive BEFORE one can hear the impact. Or at the very least, at that distance, the sound would arrive several noticeable seconds later! In the shot, the sound comes instantaneously with the impact. For me, that’s a very important aspect of not only realism but also “impact INTENSIFIES!” Since all hell breaks loose the moment the shockwave actually arrives. Before then, it’s basically all silent.

If I've learned anything from Corridor Crew it's that explosion should be way brighter - it's way too orange and should be partially clipping instead

I know you ran out of time on this one, and what you did manage to achieve looks amazing, but the only thing I think would sell this even better is if the the sound was appropriately delayed because you know, speed of sound vs speed of light

It would have been more realistic if the sound has been a few seconds later, as sound travels slower than light. It's like when we see a lightning from afar, the sound usually reaches our ears after a few seconds later.
@filmriot6 күн бұрын
Yeah, we have done this with other distant explosion episodes, but here we were going for that over the top Michael Bay version, not the realistic version.
@ginsan81986 күн бұрын
@@filmriot Alright. But if Michael Bay-ean explosion is what you're going for, the explosion itself should still look and feel realistic, especially when it comes to the way the explosion moves, as I believe a lot of explosions in Michael Bay's movies used real explosives, even if they made the saturation dimmer in the post-production. I'm not saying it looks bad in any way. I'm saying that it doesn't feel that realistic, and attaching it to the Michael Bay's style of explosion doesn't seem fitting either.
@Fatpumpumlovah27 күн бұрын
First off!! The sound would not reach you from that distance for a few seconds, sound was COMPLETELY OFF.
