You guys should do a series were you take one cinematographer such as, Roger Deakins, examine his work, then try to recreate scenes or lighting set ups. You could go into camera movements, lens choice, etc. just though it'd be a cool idea!

I know this is very específico for my case but I hope anyone can ask this answer.

+SkyGeorge There are a bunch of state schools that are great for filmmaking. Florida State University is where my high school video teacher went, and he was a news producer for MSNBC for a long time. Keene in NH is also a safe bet, Champlain and UVM in Burlington, Vermont are good, there's tons of schools in Boston. I don't really know price ranges, but all you need to do is look at a bunch of lists and try and find one that's cheaper and people look at as being good.

Question could you explain, as best as your allowed to, how and why you've gotten sued during your career with film riot? My director seems to be very crazy when it comes to copyright. I know its a big deal, but are people really gonna sue you for copyrighted music that you give credit to?
@filmnewsreport32319 жыл бұрын
Yes
@filmnewsreport32319 жыл бұрын
Even if you give credit, if you make money from it and do not have their written permission to use that song or buy the rights to use it, they can easily sue you. The reason there is so many videos with popular songs is that they do not monetize their videos.

+Jelle Steensma What with the baby and all, I doubt he's had the time to see it. I may be wrong though.
@LeviStutzman9 жыл бұрын
+Jelle Steensma I thought it was a little bland. I give it a 6/10. Story played a back seat to all the locations they shot at. They really tried hard to connect it to the other Daniel Craig Bond movies, but it just didn't work. It moved pretty slow and the fight scenes were uninteresting.
@jellesteensma28619 жыл бұрын
+Levi Stutzman yeah you're right especially the end scene is to slow and uninresting but the begin scene has some unusual camera work witch i don't understand how they pulled that off so 6 out of 10 is what i think about it to👍

In your opinion, what is a better investment- A beefier dslr body (for me going from a t5i to maybe a 5d) or a better lens (say, a kit lens to a canon ef series or even a very nice prime)?

Lenses
@SAndSPictures9 жыл бұрын
Unless you want to get into photography, don't get a 5D. Those used to be good for video, but it's 2015 now and it's not anymore. Get a Gh4 or A7s. Or any mirrorless can
@LeviStutzman9 жыл бұрын
+Gordofilms7 For me, always go glass. I always upgraded camera bodies, and now I wish I had better glass. Especially when you're on a canon DSLR, there isn't much difference between cameras. Especially the 5D, its a very old camera and the only thing you're gaining is the full frame FOV, and maybe slightly better ISO performance. If I were you, I would buy the Canon 50mm f1.8, a Rokinon 35mm T1.5, and get a decent zoom lens, and maybe a wide angle like the Canon 10-18mm. That would give you some decent glass. Then, if you're making money with film, or if you just save for a while, buy a nicer camera body. Something like an a7s, or even a black magic camera. Something that would expand your possibilities. Don't worry about gear. I did for a long time and Im in a rut of not making films. It makes it really difficult when you've got alot of gear that cost alot of money and its just sitting there. Get what you need and find how to make that gear work. Its going to make you a better filmmaker.
