My (Italian) grandmother attended a concert Carol O'Connor gave, and he performed an Italian song. He told the audience the reason why an Irish boy like him was singing Italian songs was because growing up, he wanted to play with the Italian kids in the next neighborhood over...so to do that, he had to pick up some fluency in Italian along the way. 🇮🇪 🇮🇹

I would not have recognized Carroll O'Connor as the opera star. More like the last days of Orson Welles. Of course this was before 'All In The Family' hit the airwaves. I wonder what Archie Bunker would have thought of Guiseppe, the Italian opera star. Probably a bunch of racial slurs would have come flying out of his mouth. Also, this episode was written by Joseph Bonaduce, who is the father of Danny Bonaduce, (Danny Partridge) from "The Partridge Family." Just another interesting classic t.v. trivia tidbit.
