I think about it too, after all these years. I was probably in the 8th grade when this episode first aired. It Really blew my mind, and I still think how a quick moment of only 3.3 seconds can change the course of a life.

This is how i wanna remember Johnny Depp. Just like this. This was my favorite episode, and i fell in love with johnny depp in this tv series. I remember at the end when Hanson catches the guy who killed Amy. Captain Fuller says "did you get back the 3.3 seconds"? To which Hanson replies "no".

Before the opening credits, the scene in the convenience store plays out with Amy calling out "Tom", dropping the jar, then Tom calling out "Amy" and then the gunshot. However, whenever Tom watches the surveillance footage, the video always has him calling out for Amy first.

I will never like, talk to, or be friends with an Amy for one reason. That’s my mother’s name if you can even call her one. Basically gave me and my brother up, me because she couldn’t pay for her car, my brother idk. But I will never like an Amy end of story and this helps prove another reason why 😀😃

Pity it didn´t end with Hanson shooting him (I DON´T MEAN cold blooded execution). This show really had some weird rule that Jump Street cops are not allowed to kill anyone. Nothing against it, except some stupidities: 1) Ray shot by Jenko in Pilot, but alive and well the next season, 2) Penhall shooting guy who wants to kill Hanson - totally harmless shot in the arm, 3) This one - this S.O.B. deserved it.
