I actually witnessed a shooting/murder last night. Was parking my car at an apartment complex that my friend lives at and there were a couple guys in the parking lot clearly having some kind of altercation. I decided to park farther away because my gut was warning me. Got out of my car and started walking towards my friends apartment and about 10 shots rang out right in front of me. I practically teleported to the front door and started banging on it until I was in. Looked out the window and a police car showed up super fast, they must have been in the area already. Cop yells at me to get inside and lock door, I oblige. Shortly later the cop confronted the shooter and told him to drop his weapon, guy didn't and started to raise his arm and the cop shot him. Then it seemed like the army arrived, probably 50 police cars and ambulances and everything all within about 10 minutes. It was pretty amazing. Turns out these two guys had an argument while working out in the gym about a girl and their solution was to start shooting. They were young, under 25 if I had to guess. What a waste of two lives, families, stress for the witnesses and the police officer. Just completely pointless and senseless. I'm doing fine and will be fine, while highly disturbing there isn't any trauma for me. Watching a limp body being lifted onto a gurney while family members wail just isn't something I wanted to experience, let alone being feet away from people who really don't care if one of their bullets kills a bystander. I'm More just - sad that people act on their base emotions without thinking all for pride, ego, rep, whatever. Another fatherless child that probably will get sucked into the same cycle. Apologies for the disturbing comment but I feel like I need to say it "out loud" if you know what I mean.
