Venom is my favorite marvel character of all time along side spidey. That being said..I know a lot of people are writing this off because there is no spidey in this and even I, at first was a bit skeptical but honestly.....Tom Holland's spiderman and peter parker are absolutely NOT equipped or mature enough to deal with this type of Venom. This is how Venom should be and it would be a shame if we got a premature Tom Holland/Spidey that would inevitably downplay the ferocity and brutality of Venom. WE ARE VENOM!!!!

there is no venom without spiderman. the reason he even looks like he does, is because he imitated spidermans costume, when they bonded first. he also uses similar powers like spideys webs. including spiderman in this movie (even if there werent copyright issues) would take too much spotlight from venom himself. but it would be nice to have hints and mentions at spidey on the side or in the background, just so it feels like this movie belongs into marvels universe. they managed it with deadpool and the x men, just by having a few dialogues mention them. it would be nice if this wasnt a 100% reboot of the character, but just played a couple years after spidey already encountered the sybiote.

Stone7C1 The symbiote was here on earth before spiderman came in contact and molded with it. The first person to actually wear venom was deadpool. He wore it only a few minutes,he freaked out,didn't know it was alive,lol. The tendrils he uses didnt come from spiderman,it was learned from being used as a weapon by aliens,web slinging is what he learned from spiderman and of coarse the iconic spider symbol. I like the fact that they are telling the story of 'what if brock came in contact first' because when he does get that iconic look of the comic books and actually comes in contact with spiderman it will feel more epic.

Venom's origin is reliant on Spiderman in the comics. 1 Peter has the symbiote first. 2. The reason Venom has the abilities he has like the ability walking on walls the webbing etc. is from the symbiotes time with spidey. 3. The symbiote and Eddie would have never merged if it wasnt for the hatred they both had for spidey. So yes the fact people are upset makes sense because hes vital in the comics
