The problem, IMO, wasn't Ryan giving Christine the live crab. It's a competition - if she's the strongest, I'm gonna try to impede her progress as much as possible. What WAS wrong was him acting like an asshole (I would've broken his nose on the walls if I saw his smirk). Were I in his shoes, I'd have either done nothing or straight up helped her with it.

Christine also could have made a pot of boiling water then put the crab directly into the pot from the basket without using the tongs. then put the cover on it. When we used to go crabbing, we would put the live crab under hot tap water and scrub them with a toothbrush. These were small blue crab that couldn't do much. We needed adults to handle the large "Samoan" crabs that looked the same but had red shells and the crab pincher to pincher was maybe three feet across. They would fill our entire net. that was maybe five feet in diameter.

I dont think they thought she couldn't cook it. But the chances of her getting injured...which she did, but thankfully not from the live crab but a cooked on...anyway there was a real fear that she would grab it wrong and get pinched and crabs don't let go that easy. I mean Monty wouldn't have given her the crab and she was a bitch. However most of the home cooks and the judges jave respect for Christine because they knew she was that damn good. That's why Ryan gave her crab.

19:32 “giving Canada a bad name.” As a history nerd, I’m going to go with the “erm achyually” thing and say that Canada may have the nicest people in stereotypes, but they are notorious war criminals who added more war crimes to the Geneva Conventions than any other country in the world. Allow me to mention the bombs thought to have been canned goods in the First World War during the little stops in the war zones when the Christmas truces happened. They were the ones who executed all captured German troops they find. There are more and I will search them up, but it was also known propaganda that the Germans during the Second World War were afraid of Canadians. Also another little fun fact, there was this nahzi youth tank division that had captured and executed some Canadian soldiers on D-Day and spent the rest of its career on the run from Canadians who wanted to avenge their fallen brothers.

@@Kiwi_0516 she is definitely the best blind chef I've ever seen. Her ability to do so well despite being blind is commendable. But, she was not the best chef that season.
