Don’t use the high pocket for your knife! It comes out of the fifth pocket after you squat about 4 times. 😳

i say both, you can carry a-lot on you and have your suspenders hold your belt where it needs to be. I carry a handgun, a buck 110 and a leatherman surge on my belt so I like the extra support suspenders offer when I get it.

Great pants for rough work. and should be warm in the winter, I would get suspenders with the button holes, I had the clamp kind and they kept un clamping. With Blue jeans I would sit on a lawn chair after rain and get a wet ass. I hate that. I like the knife pocket, I wear wrangler 13MWZ, and the watch pocket is large enough for a leatherman knife. I like that you showed your self working in them, and you got the oil on them also. How do you wash them, or you just don't? for that price they should last a life time ! great video !

As a wood framer I swear by my Carhart Loggers. They have a awesome double knee, deep pockets,zip fly, brass suspenders studs, and side carpenter pockets . You can buy them online in the $50.00 range . I’m sure you can wax them if needed . Flison is nice stuff ,but for the price I can get at least 3 or more Carhart Logging pants . Great brush pants btw . I hope this helps others who might not be able to justify the Filson price , I think this a good alternative if not better. 🔨🇺🇸

I've got a pair of double tin pants and have had three pair of tin brush pants. I use them all hard and in the thorns and locust the brush pants get shredded in 4-5 years of active upland bird hunting. The double tin pants are great for working in wet muddy and high abrasion conditions in cool / cold weather. They are too hot in warmer weather as they don't breath well. The Filson suspenders are worth the money in my experience. I use the same pair on the double tin and brush pants as well as with my chainsaw protective pants. I haven't had a mechanical failure yet with them though after 15 years I noticed the other day that the elastic is failing and they smell pretty bad. ;~) I think it's time for a new pair of suspenders! I have never regretted purchasing Filson products. That said, I prefer their traditional work and hunting products (many they discontinued) over the new metrosexual stuff they offer. I bought it to use hard, not look like I use it. Perhaps I should put my old stuff up on eBay and see what the posers are willing to bid! LOL

Hello sir, i have two questions for you : first, is the waterproofness of this pant can ensure dry legs in despite of heavy rain ? second question : how often do you think its necessary to apply the wax on the pant? thanks a lot for your replie
@tuddle7174
@tuddle7174 Жыл бұрын
How are these pants working for you now a few years down the road? Their wax doesn’t go a long way. I bought a Filson jacket and 2 cans of wax. It barley did anything to it. I bought some otter fabric wax and waiting to put it on there.

Tin pants are old school tech that still works, but Filson got very expensive because it becomes fashionable. I think a knee pad is a better solution to your "hole in the pants" problem. Try some "softshell" pants with knee pads. They are stretchy, breathable, abrasion resistant, and sheds water with the DWR treatment. Some brands have lifetime warranties too.
@skywaterhaven
@skywaterhaven 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Ye Cheng! I agree with you about Filson getting expensive because it became fashonable. However, carrying a knee pad around is not very practical. I'm not so much worried about holes in my knees as I am getting wet. Thanks for your feedback!

Your right "Some Guy"! that was a staged shot. But the random puddle was actually a spot where a drainage pipe was leaking up out of the ground and I was clearing the hole to allow the water to flow out a little. Thanks for watching. the little pocket you put your knife in, was designed for a pocket watch. the pants have not had any design changes to them since they where originally manufactured and back then every one wore a pocket watch so you needed a little pocket to place your watch in to protect it.

Hi Nathaniel, That a good question and always a worry when buying clothes on line. I also am a 31 waist... sometimes 32 depending on the clothes.I looked at the tag on my tin pants and it says 34. They fit perfectly, I knew I was going to use suspenders so I wanted to make sure they were loose. nothing more irritating that tight pants when your working. I could ask for a better sign for me. Good luck!

If you want to skip the 5 minutes of excuses for the sky not being bright and him saying UGH every fifth word clickbait here 5:15 . The reason Filson doesn't hem the bottom is becuase it you are out in the woods and they catch on a tree it is safer for your pants to rip than to trip you while possibly carrying something that would hurt you. Also Filson has a LIFETIME WARRANTY so $200 isnt that bad.
