Just a note for viewers in the future, this particular unit may have been a USA-made product, but as of 2024 all of Filson’s rugged twill and tin cloth bags are made in Vietnam. Though, don’t worry, they kept the pricing exactly the same as when they were USA-made 🙄

Oh really…
@jianyuantanАй бұрын
I don’t think that’s true. Tin cloth bags yes, but rugged twill is still USA made from what I’ve read.

I would recommend finding one second hand. Older versions have two zippers for the main compartment and internal organization (pen slots and card slots). Plus, you’ll pay a lot less!

Long time viewer, first time commenter. Great review as always, but I wouldn’t recommend anyone store anything of value on the outside pockets. I lost a pair of Beats earphones in the back of a taxi when they slipped out of that outside pocket as I was exiting a taxi.

thanks for your support and first comment! and yea, that front pocket isn’t super secure, you definitely have to keep an eye on anything you put in there

I’m a big briefcase guy, and this one is a looker. But I do like a little more technical stuff built in: like a more suspension style strap or more padded laptop sleeve in the interior, just more tech friendly overall. The snap buckle style might drive me crazy too, like a magnet or even a simple metal stud would be more my speed.
@Nomads.Nation2 ай бұрын
yea a magnet would be much better imo, but I get why they didn't do it - it's a classy bag using classy hardware

If you are on a briefcase kick, would be curious to hear what you think of the Evergoods TB20 - they made some unique choices there - or the Waterfield Air Porter

Nice video, thanks for the review. I picked up my Filson briefcase back in 2013 for $325, which shows how prices have changed. It's got all these handy internal pockets for business cards, passports, pens, and pencils, which apparently was discontinued(?). My profession is warehouse logistics software ,which means my bag gets a lot of wear and tear, but it still looks fantastic. I'm really sold on the Filson style; the last couple of briefcases you reviewed just don't compare in terms of looks (IMO). They seem pretty generic to me. My taste leans heavily towards the classic Filson look, which I find much more stylish than the usual black and gray briefcases you see everywhere. Again, nice video/delivery.
@Nomads.Nation9 күн бұрын
thanks so much! and yea, Filson has a very classy aesthetic that not many other companies can touch

@@Nomads.Nation Yeah now that private equity has their hooks in them I think it's inevitable that they'll Continue their downward spiral in quality and upward spiral in price. Good news is there's alternative American made products out there to fill the gap with same style/quality..

Wow.. such hefty price. But something else, Aaron: Will there be a review of the new Able Carry Max EDC soon? :)

The price is TgDH for my 8kg workload. I would rather stick with both Fyro and Aer although both are not briefcase.

Canadians don’t have to pay duties on made in USA goods, which is around 11% due to the NAFTA agreement, so it does make a difference 😊 but it would be fine if it was made in Mexico too…

Personally, if I were going for a full luxury briefcase - I would go for full leather - especially if I were spending $500USD.

It is the only briefcase that has a history of going up in value over time. Give it 10 years and the Filson will be worth $800, the leather one $100.

Oak &Rove alto takes the cake with value, quality, and function all considered. I’ve had mine for two years, carry every day, use all functionality, and travel a lot. Still awesome. False bottom lacks and tight glasses pocket are only critiques.
