My father was exactly the same. I lost my mother when I and my sister were at a very small age. Since then,our father was everything to us. He braided our hairs,cooked food for us,dropped us to school and what not!! He talked to us about our periods and even taught us how to use sanitary pads. He never gave us a chance to miss our mother. We lost him to cancer recently and I wish every girl out there had a father like mine,but with much more longer life. I hope you are happy where ever you are appa. We love you. Always ❤️

Something I noticed though. Thing is, a lot of girls get their periods around 10 or 11 now, and you simply aren't taught anything about menstruation till atleast 8th grade. I feel we have to have a more open conversation on the topic, with both our boys and girls, and that too in good time. It took until a day when we were all teens and lounging in the couch when both my brothers kind of hesitantly asked me what periods were. And what pads were supposed to do. One of them had thought they were adult diapers or something. It's important kids learn early that there's nothing dirty or to be ashamed about pads etc.

I relate to this!! When my sister was younger she wanted to play cricket so my parents spoke with the school authorities and they allowed her to go for cricket classes in the school with the boys(since there weren't any exclusive cricket classes for girls)
