Should the arrow be pointing up or down? Other videos say point up? Confusing.

Our arrows point down to indicate the direction the air is actually flowing. It should also be noted that the arrows on the OEM filter can be misleading if you intend to replace them with an aftermarket filter. The OEM filter has "UP" arrows, whereas aftermarket filters show air flow arrows. If using an aftermarket filter, the airflow arrow should be pointing DOWN. This will make sense to you when you pull out the old filter and notice that all the debris (leaves, bugs, etc.) are on top of the filter. Therefore, the airflow travels downward, through the filter and into the blower vanes.

Any idea why the cover won't pull out when I push in the tabs?

It sounds like it is not fully disengaging. Try un doing one tab at a time. Getting a flash light can help you see why it is not disengaging.

I cannot get the glov box out

The glove box does not need to be removed from its hinges. Once it is lowered, you will have enough clearance to access the filter housing. Also make sure you have removed your dampener arm before lowering.

Toyota is unique in that the cabin filters you receive directly from the dealer are marked differently than all other manufacturers. The aftermarket cabin filters will have the arrow pointing a different way than the Toyota brand filters.
