He didn't take a slapshot. That's why it was so filthy. He faked the slapshot and they took a quick snapper all in one motion. If you don't think that's an absolutely sick goal, you don't play hockey... and sure don't understand how things work out there.

@Mike Fagan Man, I can tell you don't play hockey at all. Not an insult. Just a fact. If you did, you would know what you're seeing. Watch what he does. He brings the stick all the way back, brings it down fast, then slows, then takes what is called a "snap-shot". It's as simple as that but it takes tons of skill to do. Try faking a slap-shot into a snapper all in one motion. That's why it's there. This is a guy with maybe 3rd or 4th best hands in the NHL. That's why he can do the things he does.

I didn't realize how many super sick goals the Flyers had last month. I knew they were the best team in the NHL last month but I didn't realize how many crazy goals they had. All of them were sick. (Thus the video). Giroux's deke on the goal line to a sick backhander. His fake clapper to snap shot snipe. His goal from Konecny's behind the net pass when he was already on the other side (and Konecny is a short guy so he doesn't have much reach to pull stuff like that off). His goal on Voracek's sick move then dish. Frost's first NHL goal in his first game that was highlight reel. Provorov's coast to coast dangle and snipe. Hayes putting it in with a hard pass coming from between his legs, off his skate, then taps it home all within a foot. Sick goals. They did miss one though. Unless it happened in late September but I don't think it did. Konecny had one on a tick-tack-toe play with Raffl and Giroux. It was crazy. Better than about 33.3% of these goals. I have to say though, even if it was against the Flyers, I would've loved to see that Michigan goal that Matthews tried then just threw it out front instead. However, it wasn't anything special because he failed on it and just threw it out front. There's a goal like that every game minus the failed move. So that 100% shouldn't have been in there. But, had he pulled off what he was trying... best goal of the season maybe. (It's been done though so maybe not... tied at least). But yeah, it would've hurt to see against the Flyers but great to see live.

They’re top of the league standings, they’ve won 5 in a row WITHOUT one of the best players in the league ( Backstrom ) so yes, best team in the league... unless you have another team you think is better.

@@ovie7725 Yeah you're right. I was actually wrong about the points. I looked it up because it didn't seem right. I heard it in the locker room recently (last night) and I think my teammate was looking at games played. Hey, it's called beer league for a reason. LOL. That being said. I would say the Flyers right now. I just pulled up the NHL stats. The Flyers were the best team of November. So while the Caps have more points, the Flyers have been better as of late. Really, you can't call someone the "best" team until the end of the season. Hell, the Caps and the Flyers could both tank. They both do it regularly. Also, I wouldn't call Backstrom "one of the best in the NHL". He's top 50 sure. But there's a whole list of guys I could think of off the top of my head that are better. He's just a great passer. That's it. And most of the time it's him passing to a serious finisher. Take away the finisher and nothing happens. Take away the passer.... someone else can do it. Maybe not as well but they can still do it. It's not hard to pass to the top of the circle over and over. But you were right about the standings.
