With these kind of controlling parents there are two options: flee or subject to them. Fleeing requires self confidence as well as a lot of self reliance and the age and possibility to work/rent a house. Tuesday has clearly conformed to the way her mother wants her to be and being like that, a younger version of her mother, her mother accepts her. Very sad indeed, she needs mental help as well as temporary free housing to recover away from her mother (I assume she can’t hold a job right now and pay the bills).

It's quite common for people who repair things to have a hoard, but it's who can keep it well organized who gets to keep the hoard, and NEVER let it encroach on your relationship, keep it to one room tops.

I love the “ocd” “germaphobes” going on and on about germs and how scary they are. Yet they will be cleaning something gross with gloves on to protect their hands, and the end go on to touch their own faces with the gloves still on!!!!

Lindsay... she. Drives. Me. Mad. She has such a big superiority complex! She acts like she is better than everyone.... and honestly, the words that come out of her mouth dont line up with her body language when it comes to being 'understanding' however when she loses her mind at that sloth.... i loved that haha. I do also love Jade & Deborah, i would have skipped this episode if it weren't for them! Low key lost my MIIIIND when jade walked into the lounge & the goat is like 😳 oh hey hooman.... 😳😳😳😳

I think it is hilarious that they shop online because as someone who has worked in shops and worked in a warehouse I cleaned my department top to bottom, polished and dusted the counters sanitized my makeup station every hour practically and in the warehouse especially like an Amazon warehouse it is dusty, moldy, touched by thousands of hands from point a to point b. It is horribly filthy by a normal standard. Trust me a shop is cleaner.
@priyaperral74982 жыл бұрын
I think it's just like calming their anxiety because they don't see what is scary for them? Like here in India if you walk into some Cafe you might never eat there, but if you order delivery from the same place you will not think about all that and just enjoy the food 🤷🏻♂️🤣🤣

Obsessive COMPULSIVE disorder. That is what OCD stands for
@vexy29299 ай бұрын
@@Chiller-pc1dv I think you misread what I wrote. I know what OCD stands for, I was diagnosed almost 20 years ago. To clear up a misconception (in part encouraged by this sort of show), this disorder causes obsessive behaviour and compulsions/repetition, it doesn't speak to the actions themselves, but yes obsessive cleaning does manifest in some people. So does hoarding, actually. For me, I repeat actions over and over again in a sequence. I count. I open doors with two hands instead of one because it must feel "even" on each side. And maybe 20 more things that would take a really long time to explain 😅. But I couldn't care less about keeping things tidy. I said that it was interesting knowing what triggered the obsessive cleaning behaviour. That was exactly what I meant to say.

I can’t speak for OCD cleaners specifically, but for the most part we anxious people aren’t suffering any more than normal because our fears aren’t new, just confirmed, and we’re dealing like we always have. We’re actually doing pretty well compared with all of the carefree extroverts who didn’t/don’t know how to stay home and be alone.
@jessicamckinney98253 жыл бұрын
@@bakerfritz4681 I can completely see that! I have ocd but in different ways, like organization, and things being out of place, and things having to be done a certain way but not ocd when it comes to germs! Does it feel like some validation for you? Like kinda being able to say “see I told you so”?? Hope you don’t take this as being rude, I am genuinely interested if we share the same thought process when it comes to our perceptions on our individual ocd beliefs!

I love this show - and watch them all, but something really irks me about the ocd cleaners. Both ends of the scale are unwell from the hoarders to the cleaners but the cleaners always take this high road and almost forget like as unhealthy as the hoarders are they are. They are always very patronising and ocd is an illness!

To the cleaning-obsessed, have you considered installing centralized air purifier in your house, and to those who can’t do it just provide every room with the appropriate size air purifier and germ killer appliances? Even if you are still a obsessed cleaner you can keep your regimen less frequent and less tedious. You can clean in less time or every two days instead of daily and for 8 long hours. I have no OCD but I researched on how air purifiers work and all about the HEPA system and decided to put air purifier in each of my rooms. I noticed afterwards less dust settles on surfaces and I breathe really great air indoors. My family’s allergies stopped. And one more thing. No bad odor can survive.
@teddy25772 жыл бұрын
Can you recommend good ones or ones you use please 😁
@tazg3492 жыл бұрын
I bought all my purifiers from Amazon. For larger rooms like the living room I measured the square footage and bought purifiers with twice the cleaning coverage. The smaller the room footage the smaller the turn over purifying performance you will need of course. I will try to find their names and post later.

After binge watching many episodes over the last few days, it has inspired a squeaky clean kitchen in my apartment. My house used to be in a state not too far from some of these hording people. Been doing much better the last few years. I know very well how it can get to that state. I think most of us have been depressed and really the clutter starts in the mind.. The cleaners also have a mind- trap to deal with, but its expressed in a different way. Really love these extreme cleaners teaming up with us horders. I hope they are all doing well. Loved this episode
