Hi Marcus, a good continuation of the previous Fimi X8 SE 2022. As I commented on the previous Fimi video, when doing a RTH, don't move the camera up during landing. When the Fimi 2022 comes over the landing pad area, the main camera will look down automatically looking for a round landing pad or round marking. Don't move the camera as the drone descends, it will automatically move up at the last instant of the landing protecting the camera. On landing the recording turns off. My 2022 V2 precision lands right in the middle of my round landing pad 100% of the time.

I have the 2020 version and it hits the pad every time. The only times it has missed the pad is if I've flown it from my driveway and instead of seeing the landing pad it has mistaken a manhole cover in the street in front of my house as a landing pad LOL. It hits that dead center too though.

The camera on the 2022 is a good step up from previous versions, and it holds a good horizon most of the time. Best video results come from using the Fluorescent colour preset rather than auto - auto results in noticeable changes of WB as you fly over different terrain. The Sunny and Cloudy presets are way off, and more or less useless, which is odd, since they worked well on the 2020 version. As with the 2020, all video is recorded with a variable framerate, which can cause stuttering in edited videos. An RCG member has developed a utility based on ffmpeg which corrects the video to eliminate this stuttering. The waypoint capabilities of the X8 are one of it's best features, with the missions loaded into the drone so that it can complete them without signal, so long as there are sats. Few other drones have this capability, to the best of my knowledge, only older DJI's can do it. The 2.4G signal of the 2022 version is significantly better at penetrating foliage and some other obstructions, and the FPV is really solid.

Did you ever figure out what was going on with drone being stuck in sport mode? Good review, this drone offers a lot of features for the price. I know you probably shot in manual, and it was sunny out there, but video seemed a little washed out. A CPL filter might have helped. Do they offer filters for this drone.

The next time I booted it up there was a firmware update, and the speed modes started working. I was in full auto Ron. I'm not sure about the filter situation. Thank you my friend!

You can access mode settings more quickly by touching the drone icon on the bottom right of the FPV screen, and toggle thru normal, sport and smooth in that order - far quicker and more convenient than going into settings.

If it's the same as my 2020, you need to enable reverse flight in tracking mode in the settings. I'm also assuming you enabled precision landing in the settings as well, I think you'll find it was closer than you may have thought
