I was just telling someone about the SAR on this drone. I like the drop, if someone needs water and you can't get to them or maybe a radio, and the speaker , you can talk to them to reassure them all is goin to be ok, which is what stranded people need to hear, great drone, great review. Thanks.

The huge issue with previous Fimi drones has been the horizon tilt, especially when flipping the camera down 90 and back up 90 degrees. Fimi appears to have fixed that issue in the 2022 version. The video and pictures appear to be a bit over saturated. Fine tuning the EV should help that. Thanks Captain. Always enjoy your reviews.

V2 maybe they've fixed it, v1 I've heard lot's of the same old issue which really isn't by any means all the time, bits occasional really. Usually I've noticed jumping up the gimbal gain to 200% or from 200% back down to about 100% usually straightens it up pretty quick ime anyway, little trick I figured out.

Captain Drone, try "Normalising" your audio files before uploading them to the drone speaker. This will maximise the volume of the audio essentially making the audio as loud as possible.

Just purchased the fimi x8 v2 for my wife as a Christmas gift. She said she wanted just a cheap drone to get started something around a $100 but I think anything in that price range is going to be of very poor quality. The fimi well hopefully be a good choice for her to get started and if she uses it a fair amount I'll upgrade her to something much better.

My x8 se rests at the bottom of the sea after around 50 flights.I fly quadcopters since 2013, the battery was perfectly maintened ,during the dive was at 80% and no wind. It is very difficult for me to buy another fimi product.

Nice video Steve. The black on the front of the drone reminded me of looking at a modern star wars storm troopers helmet for the eye's with it's all white fuselage. Loved the test drop of the Angry Bird. All and all....not a bad drone for the price.

It's definite force 8 winds and able to handle the turbulence generated around buildings and other structures during those winds. The drone will have screaming props handling the turbulences up down and all around going on.

Hi Great craft. Since I have been flying these things for a while, I now have the se- and ver 2 model. Comparing them to the c fly , we’ll both good in wind but c fly is way to fenced to the hilt and WiFi can be shaky, only issue with the fimi I have is battery bricking due to low voltage and smart charger, can you open bricked batteries and zap them so smart charger can take over charging. The FIMI’s are a good all around drone at ok price. The gale warning is quite informative to let you know it’s windy aloft.

They do make a controller with a built in display for the FIMI. I have one and will be reviewing it soon. iPads and other tablets for home use are terrible outdoors with sun, so if you use one you have to take a piece of cardboard and crate a sunshade. They do make tablets for drones with super bright screens that can be dropped and not break, but the cost over $500. I have reviewed a few.

Finally, here is the review of Fimi X8 SE 2022 V2! Firstly, its design is almost the same but it looks good anyway with that beautiful portable huge body! It does have all the primary important drone features including 10 km range, smart flight features, 35 mins flight time which is satisfactory and most importantly, the nice camera quality which is pretty good as there is no shakiness in the video! The most unbelievable thing in this new version is that, they added a latch system as well as the megaphone which is the coolest feature on a drone I have ever seen!! The sound quality is pretty good too as it comes from the megaphone and the latch system also did a good job picking up Red and throwing it on the land! In my opinion, these features must be there in DJI drones especially on the Pro ones like Mavic 3 or future Phantom 5. They cost around 5 grand and than also lack these cool features which throws a very positive light on FIMI's new drone! I also like the precise RTH function which tries to detect the landing pad. But, telling again that, that megaphone gets me all the time as I am very much impressed with this one, specially! I think Fimi also released a display controller as I saw that on their website... But, this controller is still liked by me as its design and function buttons are pretty unique! Overall, this drone is the 'new drone to own' rather than the original Fimi X8 SE, now! Just, the only missing pro drone feature in this one is the Obstacle Avoidance for sure and some more camera features should be added to make it as worthy as DJI Mavic 3 kind of drone. Anyway, it costs..... less than 600 USD? It must be a typo... How are they even selling a drone with many features and a good camera quality, even at night, at such a low cost??? I mean even DJI Mini 2 (mine) costs 400 dollars more then that. Also, I literally thought that it may cost around 2K dollars before having a look at the price. So, I guess that DJI, Autel or Skydio will start adding latch system or more importantly, megaphones on their future drones! Now, I am already waiting to see DJI Mavic 4 with megaphone, lol! Also excited to have an official look at DJI Avata as it must be a huge upgrade in the FPV Hobby! Now, I can't even describe how eager am I, to have a look at some more Megaphone drones, right now!

It had 50 flights and all of them to 50% of the battery level,no long time flights,the battery was always charged just before the flight.All of theese for nothing. The disapoitment while watching it diving was huge

Nice review CD! FIMI really should put an open/close latch button on the drone directly rather than having to fiddle with it in the app to make payload loading easier. Is that a particularly affluent area? From your video flyover, it looks like they're building some really huge houses out there.

Do u know a drone thats basically exactly same as this with all these features & also as quiet as this 1, BUT with the capability of extra weigh carry on dropping stuff. I think 200 grams is maximum on this Also, the latch system, when u dropped it, did the wire drop along with the angry bird? Or just the angry bird? Reason i ask is, in the event somehow the line went missing during the drop, I'm not sure where to go to get a replacement?

Just my luck, I guess. Bought one from Amazon. App installed, all batteries fully charged. Turned on everything & connected. After a few seconds, transmitter turned itself off. Re-ran process 3 times after which it wouldn't even power-up at all. Returned it to Amazon. From those with experience with Fimi: Worth another try or look for similar drone of different brand?

Sounds like one of two things may have occurred: - battery in transmitter never received a charge. Insufficient power supply or connection not made in correct port. - transmitter start up of pressing power button short, then long did not occur

Hey captain. Does this drone have awful gimbal issiues like previous ones? Tilt allmost every time and shaking? The 1/2 sensor seems to do pretty good job in daylight. Like really crisp. I think to buy, but i hated that tilt. No calibration fixed it in 2020 version.

Hi, I bought the X8SE 2022 and then two wks later they've announced the launch of the 2022 v2 😖... I was a bit annoyed but then the new feature is useless for me. So I'm 😀 again. Brilliant drone, battery price is shocking.

It's 549 USD on Banggood as of 5/31/22. That's not bad for all it does, but I would not consider it for anything, but a daytime flyer. I saw softness in several of the dusk photos so I think it's unusable for that. The drop feature is pretty cool however, but of limited use for me. Overall, I'd give it a thumbs up.

Adding obstacle avoidance raises the price. This is why quality drones with obstacle avoidance are pretty much only in the realm of DJI, Autel & Hubsan if you want something reliable.
