"Gotta go with the guys who are getting the job done" Yup, that's why Kyrie Irving played 43 minutes Thursday.

@@Lootmeister memorized that falling asleep to the album as a kid - drives, stops, pump, shoot, short, no good, and the game is overrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!

I remember listening to this broadcast live! We preferred the radio over the TV when it came to commentary from the Schon's!

The Blazers website has all of the radio call of Game 6, including the pre-game and post-game.

Sherman Whitman -- Awesome! Do they also have any recordings going back before that -- or will I have to keep listening to KZbin and searching there? Just wondering...

Anyone know who the color commentator was?

If anyone (still) sees this: It was Jim Marsh, a forward who spent a year or two with Portland, then retired and was with Bill Schonely this one year, I believe, on the radio (home games only). He then went on to do Seattle Super Sonics analysis for another 10-12 years. I simply lived/died by these games... 🥲

A lot less irritating than listening to Brent Musburger's and Rick Barry's CBS Sports' TV call.

Brent musburger ruined the trophy presentation for our blazers because of the stupid golf tournament after we won the title. I was 2 years old that time in 77

With all due respect, the Blazers are in a lull with regards to their radio announcing. We've been spoiled - Schonz, the great Eddie Doucette, and Brian Wheeler. The current regime doesn't do it for me.

They cut away to the Kemper international golf tournament. . . Never got to see the trophy presentation. . .

Portland fans crash the switchboard at KOIN, the local CBS-TV affiliate, protesting the quick cut to golf. Dick Butterfield, KOIN's general manager, is at the game and doesn't find out until later. He calls the move "plain lousy judgment." Don Wiederecht, a communications director for CBS, apologizes to "our basketball fans" and assures them the trophy presentation and "locker room activity" will be shown on CBS Sports Spectacular in a few days.
