I would put Ariana at the #1 spot. There's a pattern emerging where Zoe is only winning with the international awards shows (GG, BAFTA) and Ariana appears stronger with the American awards shows. Wicked got 5 nominations at SAG vs. only 3 for Emilia Perez. That should give you a clue which film SAG loved more. The Academy is 20% international and 80% American. This bodes well for Ariana's chances.

He should. He might surprise with the director nomination here, since the academy has gone out of the way to do crazier things previously. I'm predicting it now, he gets a best director nomination on Oscar morning. It's going to be a huge shocker to everyone, but it's going to be worth it. The academy just seems to love the film that much and also Screen Actors. Guild has given it the most nominations, meaning it might potentially lead the Oscar field for best picture. Winning sag on samba should secure this film as a best picture threat and I think people are underestimating how powerful The Wizard of Oz was for Hollywood, it left such a strong impact that it's still being celebrated today. Wicked is a part of this IP and has left a major impact on the industry just like that film. This is less a Barbie scenario as the film is really paving its own path. Barbie failed to secure cinematography at ASC while Wicked landed in the ASC and now those comparisons will officially stop. I do want to see him get a nomination though, it would be incredible. His direction was unlimited and the sequel will also do even better.

I think you're underestimating Stan. CCA voting for nominations deadline was before the Golden Globes nominations were even announced. SAG nominations voting happened also before the Golden Globes gave out the awards, so whatever momentum or impact his speech had, it was not reflected in either of those. Plus alphabetical bias (SAG) and votes splitting. CCA and SAG are about a month behind reflecting the current state of the race. Now what might put him in danger is votes splitting, but I think it's possible that it won't happen: 1) in his speech for ADM he mentioned The Apprentice, saying how he was proud of it, the rest of his speech was very heartfelt too, second only to Demi Moore's that night. 2) he got a nomination for The Apprentice at BAFTA, and with Oscar voting being extended, it might have an impact on the votes 3) Jeremy Strong has been picking up nominations for The Apprentice at SAG and BAFTA, 4) he's given up his ADM campaign: last week ADM was barely mentioned in his interview with Seth Meyers, but he talked about The Apprentice and Trump for about 10 minutes. 5) voting ballots for the Oscars are different, i think not only there will be more people putting him higher in their lists than Craig, but also they might put both of his performances to make sure he gets a nomination Now, Trump, it's uncertain whether his comments about the LA fires will impact positively or negatively on Stan in the voting. They might vote for Stan just to piss off Trump, but I think it'll be Stan.
