Correct me if I’m wrong, but the Mavs are the only team from the 2010’s that didn’t feature the same superstar player or team. It’s easy to forget such a great run from a well molded team because of how the rest of that decade went. One of the main reasons why I prefer the early 2010’s to the later 2010’s.

Funny how Cuban broke it up to try and get the Defensive Player of the Year in Dwight Howard and Lets Tyson go, Who went on to be the Defensive Player of the Year. Mavs lost 4 out of 5 to the extremely talented Thunder the next year but in 3 of those losses they had it tied in the final minute(or minutes). Tyson would have certainly been a factor and therefore it's likely the Mavs go back to the Finals instead of the Thunder and yeah they might lose to the Cheat that time, But if they gave the Heat any Friction at all, You might have seen them fold up like they did in this series, especially knowing that they not only knew but also Dallas Knew they could beat them.

I rem watching this whole series. One of my exes in texas was watching it on her tv and me in california. I still have the 2011 champ sweatshirt she mailed me after. This series made me a dirk fan actually i loved this whole lineup....i was so pissed when they basically got rid of the whole squad during that off season and hence they havent won since. I am now a spurs fan but i wouldnt mind Dallas and luka getting another chip.

Dear NBA! Please consider putting up whole consensus great games from the past (no matter what decade cause I had no access to watch games in my country) this is the diamond year and I think I'm not alone with very little knowledge of the 75... But sometimes a game is special for something else... and fellows all over the world who love the game! Please support the idea or something like that... Maybe we'll get some games in the off season!

Dirk is one of the greatest no doubt. To say that he did a carry job is unacceptable and moronic. Mavs team had a group of playoff hardened veterans who fought as hard as they could on what was probably their last good year. peja, marion, terry and kidd were all on a mission that year
@imdbtruth

I completely agree. Dallas was the better *team.* The defense Kidd, Marion, and Chandler played throughout that playoff run is often forgotten, but Kidd and Marion particularly played some of the best perimeter defense I've ever seen against some of the best opponents. Kidd is a freaking *LEGEND* for playing the role he did at 38 years old! 40 Steals and 10 Blocks, from an old guy whose lost a couple steps and can barely get off the ground when he jumps!

Honestly, true fans do not say this. We know Nowitzki had great support! He definitely did not do it on his own. Now, take Dirk out of the equation and they do not win the title. But that's true of ANY team that wins the title. Pick your best player and take him off the court, you don't win.
