With everything painted, we can put it all together for the last time. There are still a few small things on the list and some inspections before it can be road legal but it is 97% finished at the end of this video.

Funny that you should mention getting something free from a major company. Installed an auxiliary fuel tank for my diesel pickup and got a couple of STANT locking caps to replace the originals. Called the company for 2 extra keys for each cap asking what they charge. Said they would ship it to me free if they had the keys in stock. They did. As you stated, a bit of a pleasant surprise.
@muskokamike1275 жыл бұрын
There still are good companies out there. I bought a discounted roman tub filler for my jacuzzi tub and had a shower controller that had different handles. I wrote to Delta asking how to get the matching ones for the roman tub filler, they sent them to me no charge. I didn't even ask for them, I used their online contact form (ask for your name address and phone number etc) and told them what I had and what I needed. 4 days later they were in my mail box. INCREDIBLE. Hence why I will ONLY install Delta faucets etc from now on.
@vehcor5 жыл бұрын
What companies don't realize is going something that might only cost a couple bucks will get them much further than the millions they spend on marketing. That key was probably a $2 cost to them, they could have charged me $20 and I would have been fine with that. I wouldn't be making a video praising them but they would have made $18. Think about how much they make if just one person buys a set of tires there because of this video, which is probably not unrealistic. I always promote companies that go the extra mile for service. Thanks for watching!

@@vehcor And the same goes for negative support from companies. I bought an LG Blu Ray player way back when they first came out. Ordered the Aliens blu ray box set. Waited paitently for it to come in. Ran off to the post office when I received the card, ran home all ready to watch my hi res videos...firmware update needed. Went to the LG site, no link. Called their help line? No answer, they were closed. Wrote to them via their website. 2 days later received a response: go to this site and they provided a link. Go to the site, firmware link was corrupted "bad gateway" error message. Wrote back to LG. CSR said "we don't support that site". No, but do you support your PRODUCT? Yes we do. So give me the firmware update. No, we outsource that. After about 3 weeks I was finally able to download the firmware update. I wrote to them about the BS and they basically said "tough shit". I wrote back: well, I won't be buying an LG product ever again and I will make sure no one I know ever does either: Next door neighbour talked to me about a new washer/dryer. How about LG? No, buy samsung or GE. Took a picture and sent it to the CSR: they lost $1800 Buddy and I were out and he wanted to buy an LG blu ray player. Sony was $20 more, I gave him the $20 to buy the sony. $179.00 Another buddy wanted to buy a 60" plasma tv. This was back when they were $8000.00 I convinced him to buy a Samsung. Cost to LG: $8000 After sending the LG Csr photos of all these purchases he wrote back "stop bothering me" lol

Great video looking forward to seeing the startup. If you can give us the hours you took and I remember you told it's difficult to give details on the cash side but a plus or minus on the project. This level of rebuild is so high and your level of how the put this together is turey amazing.... thanks from across the pond

We will be going on a test drive don't worry. I am well in the positive on this project and I have not even started selling any of the leftover parts yet (except the rear end). I will give a time break down in the next video. Thanks for the support and best wishes from this side of the pond!

Thanks, o ye of little faith. lol I never realized this truck would be so popular and although my subs at the time were used to the impossible jobs, everyone else that did not know my background just though I was some idiot that was in over my head. I enjoyed proving the haters wrong and really admire the people that admit they had their doubts and take the time to admit it turned out better than they expected. I hope I changed some people's perception of rebuilt vehicles. Thanks for the support.

Yeah, that would drive me nuts....and you KNOW there aren't two the same anywhere. Like you can't use ones from the front fender liner on the rear, no no, that'd be too simple lol. I mean, I had to replace the power window regulator on my F150 and I think there's 4 different sizes just to remove the door panel.

@@muskokamike127 Reason #1289398369823792382398471 why I prefer working on GM over Ford. lol They use the same fastners for the most part. I don't know why Ford likes to make things so complicated.
@muskokamike1275 жыл бұрын
@@vehcor I think Ford's biggest issue is it is now being run by Marketing and Accounting people, not car people. You can tell by the launch of the new body style mustang when it was announced a few years ago. I mean, just look at the issues with the 5.4L. And they produced those engines for 7 model years knowing full well the issues. Now they're stopping making cars "due to market choices for SUVs over cars" no you idiots, it's because you have been building shit for so long. Look at any parking lot, still 75% cars, not SUVs. Like the GM I worked for in the trade show business: we sell the sizzle not the steak. That's what Ford has become: selling sizzle. The meat is a piece of shoe leather but hey, doesn't it look good?

Looks like you can't call it a mistake anymore. Thank you for removing the mossy oak emblems! I got a bit of satisfaction from that as well. Lastly, the soft touch open tailgate is the best...wait until you have a powered tailgate :-)
@vehcor5 жыл бұрын
I'm afraid if I stop calling it the mistake, something bad will happen. lol But I do agree, even if something happened, it would have to be pretty bad since I am so far ahead on this one. I can use the soft opening gate but the power one is just one more thing to break. I shouldn't have nice things. lol Thanks for watching.
