This was what I accomplished on Saturday afternoon and Sunday. I was a little ahead of schedule and was able to go home at a reasonable hour. For everyone playing at home here is where all the parts so far are from:
Frame, front end, trans, transfer case, wheels, LF door, front suspension all from the rollover parts truck.
Cab is used from a salvage yard.
Engine, all wiring and modules, LR, RF, RR doors, interior, all came from "the mistake". I will also be using the rear end and bed at a later time.

@@vehcor I can wait....btw, called about a used F150 at a Ford dealer....said RUN it is rusted bad....I said how's the engine? engine is perfect. How much? $750. Took my mechanic to see it yesteday, runs and drives nice actually. dirty and rusty but my mechanic said "offer him $600" we settled on $675 drove it home. Mechanic said I could probably certify it if I patched the holes in the fender. You don't get running and driving cars for that anymore. So the plan was to pull the motor myself, and have my mechanic install it but now I might fix this one up and drive it until spring. Then do the body off truck and pull the engine and swap it myself maybe......fixed up I could probably get $2500 for it. But anyways: since I don't have a lift, only a forklift.....how would the cab handle being lifted from the top as opposed to the bottom you think? It's the 4 door supercrew version. I'm thinking put the extended forks through the front and rear windows and up she goes..... Before I even think of that though I'm going to take it across the street to the local inspection garage and see what it needs to pass...if it's just the body work, I have found replacement panels for $160 US delivered....I'll fix it up and keep it.
@vehcor
@vehcor 5 жыл бұрын
Good find. Anything around me with wheels that runs is $1000 at least. If you don't care about the cab and doors, that will work fine to forklift it. I lift entire cars like that at my storage yard. You can always pull the doors if you don't want to damage them and then all you have to worry about is the roof and headliner.

It's not just your ability to take things apart and repair them but also your brain is like matched for the memory of where everything goes and in what order to put it back together. It is a unique ability you have. I feel this same way about surgeons that I sometimes watch as they put people back together. It's just something you have or you don't I guess. Great job as always.

Thanks, to be honest I would much rather edit these than the time lapses. These take a little longer to film but I think I am getting better at that. Thanks for the support!

Definitely Love the Videos! Makes me want to buy a Salvage truck and do the same thing. I've seen a lot of people ask how you keep track of everything and the simple answer is you have a Photographic Memory. I know this because I have the same gift. Handling business like a pro Fo Sho! Keep it up... thanks for the Cliff Hanger. 😂

Thanks! Give rebuilds a try, they can be a lot of fun if you like to problem solve and build things. My mind is kind of like a camcorder. If I get to the end of assembly and I have extra bolts I rerun how I took it apart and can always figure out there that damn extra bolt goes. lol Thanks for watching. Not everyone appreciates the cliffhanger. lol

Man, you're doing a great job. I'm not a GM fan, but I do like that truck. Especially the nice wheels. And the ending to the video was pretty cool. I'll be looking forward to next week's video.

Love your videos. Great filming, editing and narration and your little dabs of humor keep it real. The is an incredible amount of work and you have some awesome skills. Nice having the shop, equipment and space to work on these. The process you are sharing is really well done and drama free, entertaining and informative.

So true I thought I was the only one that would happen too if I want something it brakes if I don't want it .it comes out perfectly in one piece. And I also agree I like the clean look on a truck not all those stupid vent and bug deflectors
