I myself blacked the emblem with plastic dip paint 🎨 matched the grill perfectly and it not effect the sensors

Hey Rob - Great Channel, very informative - You are the man I can ask this of - Concerning Blacking out the chrome - I just purchased a '23 off road, great truck - I have been struggling with the front grill emblem, which I dislike - My Tacoma is Red and I am introducing hints of red throughout, not overdone, hopefully - It seems, the TSS is affixed to the back of my emblem, which means replacing might be a challenge - Which implies, the TSS can see thru the emblem - I don't really care for the film application in this video - There are black overlay emblems, I was wondering if that would affect the TSS, and if not........ I would apply the overlay and add some red paint inside of it - If the TSS can see thru the emblem, is any of what I mentioned going to cause a problem? - Likewise, there are replacement grilles that allow for the TSS, but it is not in the same location, it is below the emblem, is that going to be a concern - Thank you

Waiting for the final install, seeing that I’ve kept the OEM grill. I was waiting for everyone to return to it🤪. I may try the emblem tint. I think using the pail with the window tint might be the best method. Thanks for pioneering the approach for us.

When I first saw it (before you took film off), I thought, damn, it looked better before! Then you took the film off....looks pretty good to me! If there were any little imperfections, I doubt anyone would really notice. I love your new grille....looks good!!!!!

Good morning, pretty good here too. How about using an embroidery hoop and a hair drier to remove bubbles. I’d use the tacky stickers that come along with phone screen protectors to remove dust before seating the emblem.

Hey Rob check on Tacoma world there is a guy on there that makes covers for those that just covers the chrome, and he makes them in the colors that match the truck colors. I can’t remember his name though. I think they might be a vinyl cover.

Looks pretty good actually Rob. You’ll never see those tiny bubbles and you’ll forget about the in a minute. I’m wondering if you could just submerge the entire emblem and film in a dishpan and work with it under warm water minus the soap? Pull it up from the water and squeegee? It can’t hurt I don’t think. It’s only water.

If you are trying to delete the chrome, use hyperdip. Piano gloss black would look good.
