That's right; when Mike Tyson lost to James "Buster" Douglas on February 11, 1990, Nintendo did not renew its deal with Tyson upon expiration. Sega then endorsed Douglas, and used him in its Genesis port of Final Blow, which was renamed James "Buster" Douglas Knockout Boxing; Douglas replaced "Detroit Kid," while a new opponent created specifically for this version, the masked "Iron Head," was a take-off on Tyson (aka "Iron Mike").

The graphics still look really good today and some great animation too. Very impressive for 1988/1989. Early Taito's games are always very interesting as they use the same font and highscore table layout. So whether it's Bubble Bobble, The New Zealand Story, or a Boxing game. It's all the same nostalgic UI. lol

a lot of game companies did that, leaving their own little flavor or feel. nintendo games recycled their UI's, Atari recycled the sound fx/voice library (so did Sega).

Does anybody remember the secret punch/ trick in this game???? I still remember.....🤔🤔 But when you did it....!!! The game it self had a serious "breakdown" it kinda "Bug'd" it self 🤭🤭The other boxer went invisible...!! Or some kind of shit...!! You could not hit him.... But he could destroy you.... It was LOL.
