I thought I was maybe 2/3rds of the way into the game at this point so you can imagine my surprise when the credits started rolling.

Just finished on NSO. I think that’s part of what I loved about this game. You think you have 3-4 lighthouses to visit but the game subverts those expectations right after the first. There isn’t that much warning about the point of no return either! I missed so many djinn I thought I could go right after this fight and round them up 😭

Saturos says he won't harm Sheba, but he never says he'll let her go. Sneakier in Japanese where he uses the verb 許す with a meaning that ranges from giving someone freedom/permission (to do something) to simply forgiving that person (which would have seemed unlikely in this context to Isaac and friends)

Crappier but more accurate translation would be “Give us the rod and we’ll let Sheba go …. (with us)”

I loved this game and played it at least five times as a teenager. I don't remember anything about it at all 😑😑😑

Haha I’m such a Grinder that I grinded my team to level 55 before facing these two at the end. I also farmed the heck out of monster drops

I've always struggled with this fight because of how you immediately go from fighting the pair to fighting the Fusion Dragon. I wish they didn't do that and instead have you run away and come back later or something.

OK but... SHEBA is a brand for CAT'S FOOD ! Also I don't like the fact that FELIX can talk in this one but not in the second part (I know because you control him but still... this feels like a pokemon game where your main character can't say a single word) Maybe a remake will come soon, I hope so at least...

Thats the infamous gamedesign decision named "Silent Protagonist". I will never get why developers are still doing it. It always feels so weird when everyone is talking but the protagonist of the whole story.

Felix talks at the end of the game and there's one dialogue in between of him saying "Huh?" or something lol. Yeah that's all.

@@yanami1241I think it's to ensure that any form of dialogues should be from the player's own choice. But yeah I agree with you, there should be at least a good amount of dialogue.

@@matthewguinn7977 I didn't know how to use djinni till real late in the game. I guess I coulda done it way faster if I did. Also I did alot of grinding using a fast forward button on my emulator settings so that probably made it look like I played alot longer than I did.

29:32 always bothered me. . SPOILERS FOR THE LOST AGE JUST IN CASE. No Felix, you only have the Jupiter star. Isaac has the Mars star, and you just acknowledged you were no match for him in a fight. So what was Felix's plan going forward? Judt light the Jupiter beacon and hope Isaac miraculously misplaces the Mars star and he miraculously finds it? I find it sort of a plot hole that with Saturos and Menardi gone, Felix doesn't at least make some sort of effort to explain the true situation to Isaac. Sure, he hasnt visited Lemuria yet to confirm the lighthouses NEED to be lit to save the world, but he could at least tell Isaac his parents and Isaac's father are alive in Prox, and that Prox a whole town and race of people will die if they don't do it. At the very least that's gonna cause some deliberation from Isaac's party even if it doesnt outright convince them on the spot. Maybe Felix would have if the lighthouse didn't split, who knows but i always found it sort of a plot hole.
