Smith went 2-1 up and then had 3 sets of just terrible darts (for his standard!). It’s an interesting final but I think experience will win in the under. I would like Humphries to do it but I wasn’t convinced by his performance tonight despite the 4-0 victory. It was flattering.

The finals r set. Price and Smith after 4 sets was such a good match, they were dead even, winning same number of legs as well but after winning the third set, Smith couldnt maintain that level and Price ran away with it. Met both Smith and Price after the match and they were both in good spirits and had a little chat with them both. Honestly cant believe that ive met all 4 of my fav players and theyve all been so nice and polite. Met Luke yesterday as well and he was also super cool and i told him i believe hes gonna win multiple majors. Today I thought hed have a very close match with Cullen, who was playing superb darts but Luke smashed it today and cruised through to the final. Price v Humphries for the title now and like i always say may the best man win. I like them both and i do want Humphries to win a major but Price is one of my fav players so im rooting for the Iceman. But in the end whoever wins ill be very happy for them and ill meet them after the tournament.

Bully Boy was so good till set 3, but then his level dropped and unfortunately he couldn't find a way back to his best form 😢 Hope he'll do better in Grand Slam and World Championship. Still good achievement in Grand Prix, bearing in mind his best performance before was Round 2. Will cheer for Price in the final. Hope he'll win. Don't like Humphries.

I am really pleaesd with the finalists. I'm a huge Chizzy and MVG fan. But nobody has worked harder to build (and rebuild) a relationship with the fans like Gezzy. And when Gezzy and Luke came here to the USA for the US Darts Masters both of them did everything they could do to build Darts here in the USA and make us feel 'welcome' with the PDC. I won't say whom I was pleased to see go. But it was the only player to disrespect the fans who paid to come see him play, and make sur everybody knew that the darts and his own fans are not as important as his 'football' match he wanted to watch.

Humphries seems to have a mental barrier to cross in majors. He's a totally different player confidence wise in the Euros. I suspect if he appears nervous on stage, Price is the sort of player who will use that to his advantage and punish. Could easily go the other way though if Price struggles to get in again.

Smiths game is fragile as an egg. It's fine throwing at 100mph if its going well but when it's not he might need to slow it down just a tad and learn to re compose for a leg or two. When his game goes off the boil it looks like a car going off a cliff the just keeps accelerating.

@@Xoeki Hmmm, boasting is one thing, but shouting in the face of an opponent is another - and is unsportsmanlike - I know many of them do it to a more or lesser extent than Gerwyn Price - but its still something which should have been nipped in the bud or at least given limits. When MVG does it he's looking at the cameras and away from the opponents, same with any of the others that do it - but Gerwyn Price does it in the opponents direction. Its wrong really. Michael Smith doesn't do it at all and he's now a World Champion. He's a perfect example of a consumate professional that has exemplary conduct.

In doubles start u cant get the usual averages they hit normally throughout the year. Its obvious the averages will be lower since u need a double to get in.

@@yusufluhar5881 Honestly, none of the players should be to blame for their weak performances, the World Grand Prix literally requires players to starts at a double, and every missed starting double literally can have a huge impact on players averages, hence none of the players were anywhere near their best with many players averaging in the 70s and 80s, and maybe 90s if they’re lucky.

Its not that people haven't played well it's the format, they can't get the rhythm going like normal physically or mentally, you throw a good leg and are in a good place mentally then 10seconds later you are mentally angry again after not getting in. It's a really interesting format to see how it breaks the flow and holds players back from getting into a groove. I think you saw tonight how it totally broke Bully boy as his play and pace really is built on rhythm.
