Amazing from Dobey, MVG was so close to hitting two 9 darters but in the end inconsistency on doubles cost him. Dobey was consistent throughout and was there to punish whenever MVG missed. That 156 to end the contest was ice cold.

i don't think so. most 90 attempts that start on 20's end up with one dart at the bull. His bull attempt was helped by the first dart 25 so had a better chance of going in rather than a switch the bull on the third dart of the 20s route. Of course it didn't help that he completely dragged it low but that wasn't the routes fault.

They all play well in bits and pieces but I really think the overall standard has dropped slightly. People used to get 100+ Averages in this tournament quite a few times. The amount of times Taylor got the 100+ was ridiculous, it shows he is the GOAT as it’s both aspects of the game. Scoring and Doubling

I know the people who run the PDC are really good at promoting the darts, but I am unsure that they understand the reason dart fans love the Grand Prix. It is double in double out that sets this tournament apart because even the best in the world can have problems starting. I understand that these are the highlights,but basically, not showing the start of the games means this is no different from any other tournament. In other words, what's the point? You might as well keep to a straight start if you are not bothering to show the double start.

I take your point, and the double-in format has its merits but I for one don't want to see too many players missing doubles, more than a few times. It might be worth showing the odd one or two moments of it but a whole highlights video of missing would be more grating than exciting. I think the balance is slightly off yes, they could show more, but to make it central to the footage would put many people off.

@christrickett3291 I understand what you are saying, but it is doubtful that failing to get a double will happen to both players at the same time. Having to get a double makes the outcome irrespective of who the players are more doubtful. Ninety plus percent of tournaments are straight off, which in essence means the highest scoring player will more often than not win, which can be repetitive. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy those tournaments, but that reinforces why the double in double out Grand Prix is popular and should show more of the starts. Anyway, it is only an opinion, good luck

the person the PDC employs to make the highlights shows the contempt the PDC feels towards us. Spoilers, big moments missed, a clear lack of understanding of the game etc etc. I've said it before and i'll say it again [maybe it has changed in the last year or so] if there is no replay/archive function on the pdc channel i'm never buying it again. i'm a middle aged man with kids, a job and a life and i live overseas. I can't watch the tournaments live. i feel like there's loads of people in the same position. PDC are greedy and lack empathy. Trying to spread the sport globally my bollocks

You don't see the double on/double out format too often anymore. It does toss an extra bit of interest I'm sure. There are a few guys who, when they're on, are just machines. Michael Smith, Peter Wright and MVG are at the top of the list. Unfortunately they're not always running on all cylinders.

They play with double starts a lot in the North East. That's probably why Chris Dobey won his match against MVG. It makes it harder starting on a double and adds a bit of variety to the match!
